Dutch Schaefer's team is hired by General Phillips of the the U.S. Army, on recommendation of CIA agent Al Dillon to rescue a group of politicians trapped in the Val Verde. But when Dutch and his team of Special Force ops, which includes Dillon, land in Central America, things do not add up for the group. After finding a string of dead bodies, the crew discovers that they have been knowingly sent in under false pretenses. Fortunately for Dillon, the team has no time to worry about the deception when they find themselves being methodically hunted by Jungle Hunter: a brutal creature with superior strength and the ability to blend into its surroundings. Refer to main article. Predator. 1987 movie.

Dutch Peter Keyes September 12, 1987

Dutch Schaefer decided to make an audio tape of his encounter at Val Verde, as his personal testimony and insurance should anything happen to him. His radiation sickness and the crater of Jungle Hunter's explosion are the only evidence it was ever here.

As Dutch gave his official statement to Agent Peter Keyes of the OWLF. an OWLF survey team combed the blast area for any evidence. Besides some additional information on the species from Dutch, the team found very little to recover.

It became clear to Dutch that he needs to investigate Val Verde himself. Keyes was thorough, but he asked all the wrong questions. They have proof of alien life, but that life sees humans as game. It's an alien who's first contact with humanity was to hunt us for sport. All Keyes cared about was the technology lost in that explosion. He can't see the jungle for the trees. Dutch sees the threat, he sees the opportunity. Spies are all the same. I mean, they aren't not people to them, just assets. How many soldiers will he feed to those monsters just for a chance to steal from them or to learn from them? The government can't be trusted, so Dutch'll have to do this on his own. Dutch is cutting my treatment short and going off the grid. He will make his way back to South American: to Val Verde. He was told there were stories about "demons who make trophies of men". He'd like to hear those stories. Predator. 1987 movie / Predator 2 1990 movie / Predator: Hunting Grounds

[Superman vs Predator] 1987

La Jungla De Las Sombras ("The Jungle of Shadows").

Doctor Casey Trabor, Machu, and Dr Marla Rollins (on behalf of S.T.A.R. Labs) are searching for something they hope is an incredible scientific discovery. What they find, however, is Jungle Hunter abandoned spaceship.

Trabor's advice is to destroy the ship, yet Rollins overrules that idea, ordering Machu and his men to cut down the vines. A large number of human skulls fall out. Rollins, though unnerved a little, suggests they take precautions.

Metropolis. Midtown Labs arranged to transport plutonium in an armored car when terrorists Ed and Renny hijacked it. They manage to cause a police car to spin out of control and crash over the side of the bridge. Superman stops it before it lands on some Marathon runners. Meanwhile, when Ed and Renny find their escape route blocked, they demand a helicopter or they would unseal the plutonium. Superman whisks the armored car in the air, twirls it around at super speed to disorient the crooks, and then brings it back down so the police can arrest them.

Returning to the Daily Planet building, Lois chastises him for not working with the police. Superman, now appearing as Clark Kent, tells his wife not to worry, that he's had his powers a long time and knows what he is doing. Inside, Ron Troupe quickly fills Lois and Clark in on Dr Rollins' in Central America, hoping that by alerting the media, Superman could help them out. Clark promptly leaves, and Lois asks Perry White for The Planet Learjet to go get that story.

Central America. Rollins suggests that the owners of the ship might not be aggressors. Trabor points out the small skull collection. Rollins believes that science is the way forward for mankind. Superman arrives to take control of the situation. Professor Hamilton at S.T.A.R. Labs told him about the ship. He scans the ships with microscopic vision and x-ray vision and discovers what appears to be a self destruct mechanism, and some loose wires - which explains why it didn't go off. Superman rips open the door and is attacked by a sonic blast (too compacted for human hearing).

In space, a Yautja ship approaches. The Yautja turns off a flashing red light that suddenly became active. Then it heads for Earth.

Superman and the S.T.A.R. team head inside the ship. Superman checks out some circuit boards with his x-ray vision when it begins to fluctuate. Rollins suggests that maybe there is some alien metal that affects him, as does lead. Gunfire is heard outside as soldiers capture the team. Superman arrives to disarm them. Rollins is taken hostage by one of the soldiers, but Trabor rescues her. Superman picks up a jeep to throw at the soldiers to scare them off, but his strength gives out as his vision blurs, and thus he falls over. Though confused, Skane fires an anti-tank missile, which knocks Superman away. He uses his heat vision, which is hard to focus, to ignite a truck's petrol tank and he and the STAR team escape.

Skane informs Solomon Ward of their success. Ward orders Superman killed.

As Rollins, Machu, Superman and Trabor escape through the forest, Trabor suggests that maybe there was some sort of bacteria or virus on board the ship that only affects Superman's body. Rollins says that finding a cure is their top priority, but they are suddenly stopped by Machu. Before them lies a huge crater, its sides fused. Machu begins to tell them the story behind the crater, which Trabor confirms after stripping away the superstition aspect. Above them a helicopter appears, though Superman is the last to hear and see it. Skane see it too, and fire a rocket launcher and hits it. Superman uses his x-ray vision to discover that Lois is on board. Using everything he has left, Superman flies up and catches it before it crashes. When Superman gets the chopper safely down, the mercenaries arrive and capture everyone and tie Superman in chains, which successfully hold him.

Elsewhere, a Yautja emerges from a cave.

Superman Captain Skane and his crew take their captives to their secret base hidden deep within a cave with Mayan carvings. No one, not even a satellite, will be able to find them. Rollins is interested in the carvings and Skane explains that the Mayan tribe moved in here to hide from something and then just disappeared. (On the wall, one of the carvings is of a Yautja.)

Inside the cave lies a huge Mayan city, complete with temple and large gun. Walking to the very top of the temple, Skane takes the group in to Ward. He is very happy to see Lois, believing she will be invaluable in helping people to understand what he has been doing. Ward begins to explain how he is going to help mankind fulfill its potential, by sending an isotope into the air which will then fall to the ground as rain. To clarify, Skane plays a video, which shows a person with Down's Syndrome and a normal human. They are having a drink. The next thing, the human with Down's Syndrome is dead. Ward explains that the isotope will only kill those people with a genetic disorder and anyone who carries the recessive gene.

Rollins and Trabor are not impressed. Superman tries to struggle free of his chains, but doesn't have the strength. The group is herded off to a cell.

Trabor attacks the guards and frees Superman from his chains. Trabor goes to give Rollins a gun, but she backs away as she doesn't believe in them, and falls over the edge of a cliff. Superman doesn't have time to catch her and she is left hanging from the edge. By the time Lois comes to help, they are all recaptured.

Back at the spaceship, the mercenaries are attacked by the Yautja.

As Marcel and another soldier discuss the ailing Superman's condition, Trabor makes plans of escaping by borrowing a hair pin from Rollins. Meanwhile, Ward continues his attempt to get Lois to narrate his project. He hopes that using such a recognized reporter, his project would prevent overreactions. Lois still refuses, and leaves Ward to wonder if Jerry Springer is available. Escorting Lois back to the prison cell, Dumbrowski walks too close to the cell, and is held against the bars as the other soldiers are held at gunpoint. Ward is informed of the escape. He leaves Skane to recapture them, concentrating instead on integrating the Yautja energy pod into his own seeding generator.

Superman plans to return to the Yautja ship, despite objections by Lois. When he arrives, though, he discovers the three guards already dead. Then he is attacked by the Yautja.

As the soldiers near the escapee's position, Trabor attempts to hide the group, but Rollins betrays them to Skane.

The Yautja decides to fight Superman in hand-to-hand combat, but when Superman makes the first hit, the Yautja rethinks his choice and begins firing his laser cannon. Superman, unsure if his invulnerability would protect him, retreats inside the derelict ship, and hopes the Yautja will follow. It doesn't, and Superman realizes, almost too late, that the Yautja had repaired and initiated the self-destruct sequence on the ship. It explodes just as he is flying away.

When Skane does a prisoner count, he comes up two short: Trabor and Lois.

Soldiers, meanwhile, find Superman regaining consciousness and, much to their surprise, he takes them down, his powers seemingly recuperated. Yet once they are tied up, his fever returns. A short distance away, the Yautja studies Superman.

His powers greatly reduced by an alien virus, Superman must stop the carrier of the plague the Yautja as well as Ward, who threatens to wipe out a huge chunk of the population! It's a multiple showdown in the jungles of Central America as Superman must simultaneously overcome the alien virus that has sapped his powers; defeat a Ward's experiment in genetic "cleansing"; and keep all sorts of people away from a deadly Yautja! Fleener Creek, Oregon.

An average Northwestern town, like any other speed zone too small to make the map. It's got a sheriff who's got a longing for action. There are townsfolk with whispered histories - like Buddy Wilcox, who's said to have murdered his own father - and there are locals to whom you'd give the Good Samaritan award - but who dream of doing things that would give Buddy nightmares. Like all small towns, Fleener Creek is a powder keg waiting to blow. But unlike other small towns, Fleener's got a catalyst to set the action blazing - Fleener's got a Yautja -- the same one who killed Buddy's father right in front of him, in those very woods, thirty years before!

No one in Fleener would commit violence if the Yautja didn't show up. He's the living embodiment of their primal thoughts. The Yautja is, in a way, a demon that possesses the town, a demon they must exorcise to survive. He's their inner evil.

McCutcheon is a serial killer who finds himself no longer the hunter, but the hunted, as the authorities and a Yautja chase him through the forest. During record heat in the region not experienced since 1958, convicted murderer James McCutcheon and his gang escape into the woods near Fleener Creek only to come across a Yautja who has returned to the area after a hunt 30 years earlier. He kills McCutcheon's associates who have already killed two sheriff's deputies on a hunting trip nearby, causing a panic in the town. Local Sheriff Kelly Mathis, McCutcheon - who starts to worship the beast - and local family man Buddy Wilcox hunt after the beast as it kills others. Buddy, the survivor of the Yautja attack thirty years ago that claimed his father, turns himself into a human Yautja to face and finish the beast. He buries what's left. The incident, or at least what happened to McCutcheon, is covered up in national media by FBI Bureau director Timothy Gray. Predator: Kindred

rasche schaefer 1989

In a heat-ravaged New York City, an unknown assailant breaks up a secret meeting between two of the city’s gang bosses, Lamb and Carr. Responding to the reports of gunfire, Detectives Rasche and John Schaefer ignore orders to stay out of the scene and enter the abandoned tenement to find both gangs massacred. Only Carr has survived the slaughter, and he manages to escape before Schaefer can arrest him. Captain McComb arrives and reprimands the two officers for disobeying orders not to enter the premises, warning them to stay off the case and informing them that the "feds" will handle it.

tag Several days later, another attack targets an NYPD firing range, leaving only the unarmed desk clerk alive. Rasche and Schaefer again enter the scene without authorization. Gen Phillips of the US Army confronted them, who takes the detectives aside and presses them not to pursue the killings. Schaefer is unrepentant, especially when Phillips mentions he knew Major Alan "Dutch" Schaefer. Following the meeting, Rasche and Schaefer heads inside alone and the killer, a giant figure, brutally kicks Schaefer is able to tear off the suspect's helmet. Rasche takes his injured partner to hospital, where doctors reveal a mysterious metal device attached to the back of Schaefer's neck. If removed, it would threaten to sever his carotid artery.

Schaefer realized the killer tagged him specifically. He tells Rasche to take a vacation with his family while he himself travels to Central America, following up on information given to him by his brother Major Alan "Dutch" Schaefer shortly before his disappearance. Retracing Major Alan "Dutch" Schaefer's steps, he heads into the jungle, finding a destroyed rebel encampment and eventually a huge blast crater. There a Yautja attacked him, which he recognises as the suspect from New York. Schaefer manages to kick it over a cliff, impaling the Yautja on a branch. Thinking the job completed, Schaefer plans his return to the US. On the way out of the jungle, Eschevera, a drug dealer he previously wounded in New York, captured him. Taken to Eschevera's base of operations, he prepares to have Schaefer tortured. However, a group of Yautja attack his fortified compound. Schaefer escapes the carnage and flees back into the jungle, where Gen Phillips recovers him.

Back in New York, a shocked Rasche discovers there is a fleet of Yautja ships hovering over the city when he happens to look through the helmet Schaefer recovered earlier. He tries to convince his superiors, but Phillips' men capture him. From them learns that Phillips intends to hand Schaefer over to the aliens, having presumed that the hunters are here to settle the score after Dutch killed one of their member in Central America and hoping that giving them what they want will convince them to leave Earth in peace. Learning the location of the swap, Rasche escapes and heads there to save Schaefer. He arrives to find Schaefer already holding his captors at gunpoint, and the two flee the scene.

Determined to fight the Yautja, Schaefer takes an incredulous Rasche to recruit Carr and his men for a final showdown with the aliens, arming them with heavy weapons recovered from an NYPD lockup. Schaefer gets the Yautja' attention by firing at one of their ships with an RPG, and sure enough the creatures land and disembark for a close-quarters fight on the ground. Assistance arrives in the form of soldiers and a fleet of US Army helicopter gunships after Phillips reconsiders his stance of appeasement towards the aliens, but even so the Yautja' advanced technology gives them the upper hand. However, a huge storm suddenly breaks over the city, signalling the end of the heatwave. In response, the creatures return to their vessel, departing Earth with their ships.

Gen Philips Afterwards, Schaefer gives Carr and his surviving men a few hours head start before he comes after them. An injured Rasche states his intention to retire following the calamity of the last few weeks, a decision Schaefer accepts with good grace. Phillips, meanwhile, expresses the need for secrecy surrounding the aliens and tells Schaefer they are covering up the incident, to which the detective tells him, "Good luck with your lies, General." dutch Apr 8, 1991

Dutch Schaeffer is regreting not his radiation sickness before he left OWLF. It made leaving the country difficult. He cashed in a few favors, took too many off-the-books flights in rusted-out buckets, but he made it back to Val Verde. The area was in lockdown, sealed by American intelligence for study. The complex centered on the crater from the alien's self-destruction. He found a scientist slumming in a local bar. A few drinks, and a couple of threats later, he was ready to talk. It wasn't much, barely anything Dutch didn't already know. The blast emitted a form of radiation they'd never seen before. Some believed it was extraterrestrial: some didn't. Either they're not that bright or there's nothing to find. Dutch decided to to let them keep searching in vain. It kept them busy and off his trail.

He's been touring villages and small towns, using the cover of an author writing about South American folklore. Dutch didn't know if any of them bought in, but they took his money and told their stories. The closer they were to the jungle, the more stories of devils in the trees. Some were lies, made up on the spot, but some carried consistencies that Dutch couldn't ignore. Whatever it was, the "Demons Who Makes Trophies of Men", the "Devils of the Trees", or the "Skull-Taker", the stories always began on the hottest summer that they could remember. In the summer of 1987, Val Verde nearly broke it's all time high in temperatures. They love the heat. It must remind them of home. Everything else confirmed the truth of the stories. Proud warriors skinned and hanged: skulls and spines ripped from their bodies. Maybe it was obvious from the beginning, but it wasn't until he heard the stories that he truly accepted the purpose of these mutilations - they're taking trophies. They travel impossible distances to hunt and skin humans, and mount them over some alien fireplace on another world. It would be disgusting if it weren't so familiar.

Dutch was at a loss as to where to go next. He knows they've been doing this for decades-- centuries maybe. They're coming back, and he need to be there for when they do. Predator: Hunting Grounds

enoch alda 1991

Summer

Cibola County, New Mexico.

Stationed at Cole Army base, Nakai's 3-day pass to visit his girlfriend Alda (which he requested a month prior) was denied. He decides to put his frustration at bay by drinking sneaked Bourbon with his friend Dietl.

The next day, the still-hungover Deitl and a still functional Nakai went out on an anti-aircraft patrol. As Nakai picked up a peculiar scent, a Yautja suddenly ambushes them and kills Dietl with an energy blast. Nakai rushes back to base, which had just recently discovered a crashed alien spacecraft, believing to have witnessed an "Adilgashii", (Witch). Nakai explained his experience to his superiors. They advise him to keep what he saw to himself.

Back at Cole Army base, Nakai mourned Dietl's death in a barrack. Two other soldiers began teasing him, resulting in a fight that is broken up by Sergeant Coates. Nakai is escorted to a storage room where Colonel Trench is waiting for him. They inform Nakai that his claim has been validated; the ship army discovered was confirmed to be a combat vessel and that Nakai had a run in with its pilot. They then grant him his three-day leave, despite protesting.

The next day, Nakai is drunk in a saloon with Alda. Alda then takes him home after Nakai had clearly drank too much, to which he begins having odd dreams of his childhood.

After he woke up from his nightmare, he refuses to tell anything to Alda about it, causing an argument. The fight ends abrutly with the newsflash detailing that Cole Army base had been destroyed by a nuclear explosion.

Nakai returned to the site of Cole Army base to help out with the investigation, but was denied access. When Nakai calls Alda to tell her he's coming back, she informs him of the murder of the sheriff and his deputy by "blue fire" as per the herder's son's report to the news crew. Believing the murderer is the same Adilgashii that killed Dietl, Nakai told Alda to leave town while he planned sneak into what's left of Cole Army base.

That night, Nakai treked across the New Mexico prairies to Cole Army base. En route, he spots a faint fire in the horizon with a figure sitting by it. Slowly approaching it, unseen, he sees the Adilgashii. Though Nakai remains unseen, the Adilgashii becomes suspicious, and is attacked by a mountain Lion. Nakai uses the distraction to flee to a nearby military camp, informing Colonel Trench of the Adilgashii's whereabouts.

In the town of Agate, New Mexico, the Adilgashii claims it's latest trophy before it is intercepted by Nakai in a military jeep with a rocket launcher. A small firefight ensues as the Adilgashii manages to escape, with Major Amblin being ordered by Colonel Trench to pursue it. Nakai is ordered to stay at Agate as part of the occupying force.

During his patrol, he meets with Dan Tilden. After Nakai daydreams about his past life with his grandfather, Dan wonders why the Adilgashii didn't use its "ray gun" after the ambush. Nakai then realizes that the Adilgashii may have a special camp where he is storing his equipment and rushes to inform Colonel Trench. Trench is despondent to Nakai's claims to call off the search party looking for the Adilgashii and instead says he'll order Major Amblin to send out a scout for a camp.

Frustrated, Nakai steals a jeep and ride off and look for Amblin's squad. Nakai manages to find Amblin and his men just before the Adilgashii ambushes and slaughters them all, including Amblin. Nakai manages to escape into the bushes without being seen, slipping from the Adilgashii's grasp once again.

[Big Game] The next day, Nakai traverses a massive volcanic formation in El Malpais, armed with an M60. He reached a small jungle surrounded by igneous rock and checks his binoculars. He sees the Adilgashii resting at a small makeshift camp. Nakai rushes through the jungle towards the Adilgashii's position but is suddenly intercepted by a booby-trap and has his right arm impaled and seriously wounded. The Adilgashii hears the noise and attacks. Nakai uses his M60 to briefly fend off the Adilgashii before it intercepts him and destroys the weapon. Nakai flees with the Adilgashii in hot pursuit in the trees before a branch snaps and the Adilgashii falls to the ground, allowing Nakai to escape. He deduces that the Adilgashii did not chase after him because he was recuperating from previous injuries and hadn't fully recovered.

Nakai returns to the igneous rock and back to a deep crater that he almost previously fell in. He figures that he may be able to lure the Adilgashii into falling into the sixty foot hole, killing it once and for all. Nakai decides to set the forest on fire to draw it out to his position. His plan was a success and the Adilgashii comes rushing out of the trees, unloading it's Plasmacaster into Nakai's direction. The Adilgashii takes the bait and follows Nakai up to the formation where he suddenly falls into the trap hole. Nakai cautiously grabs his pistol and walks over to the hole to which the Adilgashii lunges out from the hole and grabs Nakai, overpowering him. As the Adilgashii prepares to go in for the kill, gunshots from a distance distracts the Adilgashii (the forest fire ignited the shells from Nakai's M60), giving Nakai enough time to grab his handgun.

Meanwhile, Colonel Trench and his men find a headless body of a soldier stranded in the prairies. As a soldier asks Trench who could have done this, Trench replies with "only a savage can answer that question for you, soldier". Nakai suddenly emerges, brandishing the Adilgashii's severed head, and responds with "Only a savage can answer that? Then go ahead and ask him."

Back at base, although Trench is thankful towards Nakai, he cannot ignore the amount of times he disobeyed orders and arranges an honorable discharge for him. He is later told by the government to keep everything he has experienced confidential. The Yautja is associated with the myth of adilgashii. Predator: Big Game

DEA agent Marty Dworkin leads CIA agent Joe Bob Cantrell and a US military team in to capture a dictator. Dworkin is killed when the mission is interrupted by a Yautja attack. Cantrell fights off the Yautja, but then passes out. He is then found with the bodies of the drug-pushers strung-up by the Yautja. He is then blamed for it by the army.

Virginia:

At his secret trial, CIA agent Joe Bob Cantrell explains what happened and that the army knows what happened and is trying to cover it up. He asks for a lawyer. CIA lawyer Griggs Irving takes Cantrell's case as it reminds him of another case, the story of a South Vietnamese officer accused of the same thing during Vietnam in 1968. Griggs tries to track him down, but finds he was killed a year ago.

A mysterious source then leaves him a package with the journal of Jean Brunaud from 1916 (WWI). It details Brunaud's encounters and stories of the Yautja, and contains the helmet of one of them.

What became of Cantrell or Griggs after this point is unknown. Predator: Bloody Sands of Time

Batman 1992

In a boxing match in the Gotham Arena, two boxers battle for the title of the Heavyweight Champion of Gotham: Bull Bersaglio and King Marcus. King is dominating the match so far.

Each of the fighters are backed by two of Gotham City's biggest gangsters - Alex Yeager and Leo Brodin. With the end of Round 14, Brodin and Yeager come close to a physical confrontation but the beginning of Round 15 interupts them.

As the fight continues, a man and his dog, named Satan, are watching to the fight. Something has Satan spooked. The man drags the dog out, and returns to listening to the match, in which Bersaglio had been knocked down but returns to his feet quickly.

Just as King lands a punch, sending Bersaglio back to the mat, the man hears Satan yelp, and go silent. He grabs his shotgun and goes outside, but stops when a laser-sight lands on his chest. Seconds later, the man is hurled backwards as a plasma shot tears through his rib cage.

King Marcus wins the fight, and announces that he plans to spend time alone with his wife, Lita, at the Plaza Hotel in downtown Gotham. The Yautja, watching the interview in the dead man's house, then flicks off the TV.

At the arena, the Mayor speaks with Yeager and Raymond, congratulating Yeager on the victory when they run into Bruce Wayne and Commissioner Gordon. He explains that Yeager is a new investor into Raymond's corporation, the Squire Corporation, which Gordon thinks is a front. Just as Yeager tries to invite Wayne to hi victory party, Broden emerges, his bodyguards shoving everyone out of their way. As the crowd thins, Wayne tells his butler, Alfred, to take him to Yeager's party. He is aware that Yeager is one of Gotham's biggest gangsters, but wants an inside view personally.

Finally alone with his wife (and the bodyguard at the elevator), Marcus and Lita bolt out of bed when an intruder jumps down from the ceiling window. Lita races to the bathroom as Marcus moves to attack the Yautja. However, the Yautja fires his netgun, pinning Marcus to the wall. He then proceeds to remove the skull and spine, while Lita watches, horrified.

At Yeager's party, Wayne speaks with Raymond when Alfred spots the Bat-signal. Exiting, he dons his Batman outfit and arrives at the Plaza Hotel.

[Batman vs Predator] Upon Batman's arrival, the police first on the scene inform Gordan that the two guards had their chests blown open as well, and hung their bodies from the ceiling. Lita was unharmed, but Marcus's trophy belt and his hands were also missing.

Accusations are directed against Brodin, the sponsor of the losing fighter. Brodin's lost two brothers. Yeager lost his son and his right eye. Gordan never believed their truce would last. Batman decides to pay a visit to Brodin before Yeager declares open season.

The grisly, unusual murder (consisting of spine and skull removal) suggest otherwise. Batman's main goal initially is to avoid a battle on the streets of Gotham between the two mob bosses - the death of the losing boxer only making matters more complicated.

In an attempt to defuse the conflict, Yeager's partner, a "legitimate" but corrupt businessman, arranges a meeting between the two crime lords during which Yeager is murdered by an intruder. Clues lead Batman to the killer's hideout in an abandoned scrapyard, but in a deadly duel, he comes close to losing his life to the Yautja, who escapes. Batman gets back to Wayne Manor, where his butler Alfred sees to his injuries.

Over the next few days, and in the absence of Batman, the Yautja takes out Yeager's partner, Brodin, and Gotham's current mayor in a series of calculated assaults. Commissioner James Gordon himself is almost killed in his own home by the hunter, but escapes thanks to the sacrifice of another officer. Batman attempts to recover quickly, knowing the death toll rises every day. A countdown is initiated by the National Guard and SWAT teams: If Batman does not show before the end of the countdown, they plan to flush the Yautja out of hiding by searching street by street, a tactic that will likely take more lives than would be saved.

Batman, nowhere near healed yet able to walk, plans one last face-to-face match with the Yautja, using a specially-designed powered sonar exoskeleton suit to increase his strength and compensate for his recovering blindness and the Yautja's stealth technology. The battle begins on the roof of the Gotham City Police Department, continues in the Batcave after a chase on the Batmobile, and ends on the outskirts of Wayne Manor. After inflicting a series of injuries, including hitting it with a wide-spectrum tranquiliser and Alfred shooting it with an old blunderbuss, Batman finally knocks the Yautja down with a metal baseball bat just as its ship lands, with others of its kind disembarking. The defeated Yautja honorably commits suicide with a sword (something akin to seppuku) which the Yautja commander then presents to Batman before leaving. Batman is confident that the Yautjas will not return after having met what lives in Gotham. Batman vs Predator

dutch Peter Keyes June 27, 1992

Dutch Schaeffer was on a dock about ten klicks down-river from the Val Verde border, figuring out his next move. He was ready to pack it in, believing there was nothing left for him to find. The OWLF had abandoned the detonation site a year ago, and Dutch thought they'd already shipped back to America. That's when he saw Agent Peter Keyes with three of his agents tying a skiff to the dock. Keyes walked up, looked right at Dutch, and shook his hand. With the radiation sickness, Dutch lost a lot of weight. Dutch thought maybe Keyes hadn't recognized him.

They spent the next few hours trading war stories at the bar. His cover was that they'd been looking for a serial killer. A sadist who'd been operating in the area for years. Hunting people like animals and skinning them alive. Keyes wanted to talk about the monster, so it all came out in the cover story. In many ways, they were just a few steps behind, surveying villages for information, locating witnesses. He did confirm one thing Dutch had only considered. He told Dutch about how the "killer" chose its victims. They were always armed: a rifle, a pistol, a knife in the boot. He wasn't taking kids or random villagers. He wanted a challenge. Whatever it was, it was a hunter. When it killed, it killed for sport. Dutch wished they were here for a military action, recon for an invasion. But the truth was so much worse. They're prey. Animals. Fit only to be hunted. Keyes and his buddies paid their tab, and Dutch's, but before he left, he winked at Dutch and said ... "Stay out of the jungle. That's where he gets you".

Dutch tracked Keyes and his team for weeks, but they didn't learn anything new. Maybe they knew Dutch was there, maybe they didn't. He don't know. He's risked enough for now. He thought it's time to disappear. Keep his ear to the ground. Be patient. Predator: Hunting Grounds

The CIA unit tries to capture both the rogue agents and the Yautja, who is also hunted by a fellow-Yautja law enforcer. Loudermilk, much of his team and most of the rogue agents do not survive the encounter.

Enter the mysterious man known as Law. Law enters Golden City and seems to have all the answers to the city's woes, but demands absolute authority if he's to set things right. In the dining room in Law's private living quarters atop the citadel tower, a Yautja attacks Phillip. Law orders Ruby to attend to Phillip as he attacks the Yautja directly. The Yautja makes short work of Law's security detail until Law presses the advantage and begins hunting the Yautja. The fight reaches the 6th floor, where Law tackles the Yautja, crashing through a window into a reflection pool outside. This shorts out the Yautja's cloaking device. Law knocks out the Yautja, and has the creature taken to his lab.

As the Yautja uses its medi-kit to repair its damage, Law does the same in the medical lab. Then Law returns to the Yautja to continue the attack. The Yautja wins, beheading Law. Agents of Law #6

Batman 1994

Batman - unwillingly aided by the Huntress - successfully apprehends a criminal during a drug-related homicide. The criminal reveals that his boss, a crime lord named Terraro, has put a price on Batman's head and hired 7 of the world's professional assassins to hunt him. Shortly after the capture, a strange, luminous object (reported to be a meteorite) lands beyond the Gotham River.

The creature kills one of the assassins on a rooftop, later knocks out Huntress (but spares her after mistaking her for Batman), kills a few of Terraro's associates and attacks the GCPD before retreating with the Bat-Signal. Batman investigates the murder scene (assessing that this is the work of yet another Yautja) before following the signal's direction beyond the city limits. Batman is ambushed by the creature, only to be saved by the timely arrival of the Huntress. Another of Terraro's assassins is eliminated by the Yautja when he tries to steal the kill during the fight.

Now informed on the creature's identity, the Huntress follows leads on Terraro, avoiding two assassins that kill each other accidentally. The FBI arrive, revealing plans to set up a specialized strike force to kill the creature quickly. Batman and the Huntress both confront Terraro himself, but all are attacked by the Yautja, and Terraro is murdered in his own loft. Another of Terraro's assassins is apprehended afterward. Batman tracks the alien, only to discover the corpse of a different Yautja. When another alien retrieves his fallen comrade in plain sight of him, Batman deduces that these two are not tracking him, but rather the Yautja rampaging through Gotham, who seems to have no qualms in killing members of its own species.

After disabling one of the two of Terraro's remaining assassins, Batman regroups with Commissioner Gordon, now aided by the FBI. They plan to use the Bat-Signal to lure the creature into the open, where they can assault it. The attempt fails: both federal agents are killed, a non-threatening Yautja is mistaken for the real killer and is injured, and one of the team, Lt. Stocker, is captured by the true killer and taken hostage. Batman and the Huntress track it back to the ship, followed by the last of Terraro's assassins, who is also murdered by the beast. It overpowers the both of them, but Lt. Stocker sacrifices his life, impaling the Yautja with its own spear, though the creature lives long enough to activate the ship's engines. As Batman and the Huntress escape the fleeing vessel, another ship appears and follows, opening fire on the vessel and destroying both ships.

Later, the Bat-Signal lighting up again, signaling trouble from The Joker; a relative relief to the other-worldly troubles. Batman versus Predator II: Bloodmatch

San Drad 1994

San Drad has been overrun by the kiande amedha. The cybernetically-enhanced Dutch Schaefer and Lieutenant Linn Kurosawa have been abandoned by their superiors and are quickly cornered by a swarm of the kiande amedha drones. Before they can be killed, a pair of the Yautja appear and destroy the kiande amedha. The Yautja offer an alliance with the two humans in order to stop the kiande amedha infestation.

Dutch, Linn, Yautja hunter, and a Yautja warrior battle the kiande amedha through several environments and successfully destroys the kiande amedha Hive.

Later, the team discover that the cause of the kiande amedha presence on Earth is the result of a bio-war project headed by General Bush working for the Weyland-Yutani corporation. They destroy the remaining kiande amedha in General Bush's lab by crashing his military ship from orbit into San Drad, causing a huge explosion that eliminates all kiande amedha life on Earth.

The Yautja warrior then gives his Ki'cti-pa (Wrist Blades) to Dutch and Linn in recognition of their skills as warriors, before the Yautja depart back into space. Linn asks the Yautja why they chose to help them, and the Yautja' vague reply makes Linn and Dutch wonder whether they will have to fight them the next time they return to Earth. Note: This follows an alternate timeline diverging from the events of Dutch's encounter with Jungle Hunter in 1987, and Peter Keyes' statement of Dutch in 1997. Also, Weyland-Yutani is mentioned - but the company does not exist until at least the 2120s. AvP Arcade

As part of Lexcorp's attempts to improve its public image, Doctor Cheryl Kimble - head of Lexcorp's space division - investigates an incoming probe transmission. Clark Kent is shocked to discover that the pod's transmissions are a Kryptonian distress call. Making contact with the pod, Superman receives a telepathic transmission that a city that survived the destruction of its planet, and is now running out of resources. As the city is located far from any sun, causing his powers to fade the longer he remains, Superman takes a ship to investigate.

Superman discovers a small group of unconscious survivors and sends them back to the Lexcorp satellite in his ship. Exploring further, he encounters a kiande amedha, but due to his depleted powers, the creature wounds him. He is rescued by Kara (aka Supergirl), another survivor of the city, who explains that the kiande amedha came from an abandoned freighter containing an Queen that crashed on Argo years ago.

Aboard the Lexcorp satellite, the Chestbursters hatch from the hosts that Superman sent back. Doctor Kimble is determined to capture and analyse them. Lois Lane, meanwhile, faces an kiande amedha in the hangar, managing to force the kiande amedha into space by opening the airlock while she hides in the ship. Kimble witnesses two of the remaining Chestbursters "hatch," but Lois torches the infants with a spray can and a match. Lois and Kimble are forced together to escape a full-grown kiande amedha as it begins to tear the satellite apart.

Superman / Aliens As Superman and Kara attempt to escape, both of them are captured and "impregnated" with embryos. However, Superman's embryo is a Queen, so kiande amedha won't risk harming him. As they escape, Superman learns that Kara is not from Krypton, but from Odiline, the planet where The Cleric - - the being who originally gave Superman the Eradicator - - laid the bodies of his Kryptonian followers to rest after their demise, with Odiline growing to revere Kryptonians as their spiritual protectors, adopting much of their customs and language.

Reaching the freighter that brought the kiande amedha to Argo originally, Superman and Kara discover escape pods and transporter booths, but the pod's launch mechanisms are jammed; the only way to launch them is to destroy the ship. Superman preps the coordinates as Kara sets the core to overload before returning to a transporter booth. Superman then uses the booth to teleport the embryo out of Kara, with Kara being forced out of the booth by an kiande amedha attack moments before the ship is destroyed and the pod launched.

Arriving back in Earth's solar system, Superman's powers are restored just in time to stop the Chestburster from emerging, allowing him to "crush" it and regurgitate out of his system before catching the falling satellite, Kimble subsequently killing the last kiande amedha. As Superman departs, however, he is left mourning the loss of Kara, unaware that she made it to a pod before Argo's destruction and remains lost in space. Superman / Aliens

Dutch Schaeffer impatiently joined up with a private military company that was headed into a hot zone. He pulled every string, cashed out every favor just to follow the sweat and the death that attracted the demon. He eventually put together a team himself. Lost soldiers and haunted men, willing to fight and die wherever he led them. They thought he was a legend and he let them believe that. They went on more missions than he can remember. They didn't fire until they were fired at. They thought that it was Dutch's code. It wasn't. He was waiting and watching.

Their last mission was an evac op in the Congo. A private munitions base had gone dark. When they arrived, they'd been dead for days. Bodies strung up on flood lights around the base, all of them skinned. Some missing skulls and spines. They secured the site and waited for backup to arrive. In the heat of the day, Dutch stared into the waves of heat coming off the concrete, thinking that any minute they might come alive as the invisible killer. And then they did. Dutch Schaeffer unloaded every round he had. Trusting him, his team fired in the same direction. It wasn't the first time he'd done it, but this time he knew what he was looking for. Yet it was so fast. They couldn't hit it. They panicked and stray rounds struck a crate of RPGs, and that explosion hit other munitions that exploded. By the time the smoke cleared, the demon was dead ... but so were all of my men. Dutch took samples of its blood, pieces of its anatomy, and what tech he could salvage, then he burned everything. Then he disappeared. He never checked in with HQ. As far as he knew, he was counted among the dead. Predator: Hunting Grounds

John Schaefer is a cop in New York City and he is still wondering whatever happened to his brother. During a drug bust he arrests a drug-running airplane pilot (Mercer) who reveals that he knows something about what happened to John's brother, that he was, in fact, the pilot on that last mission in South America. That launches John back into an adventure back to South America to figure out what really happened to his brother.

At the same time, the Yautja John thought he had back then recovered. The experience, however, drove him completely mad. Now, this Yautja is in the South American jungle running around with this bunch of human devotees (South American tribesmen) causing all sorts of havoc.

John is en-route to Cobija on a makeshift military transport - Cobija had been cut off since El Prisidente's civil war turned into a slaughter. This is why the transport was bombed. The pilot, John, and Lopez had been tagged with ankle tracking cuffs - meaning the government gendarmes were keeping tabs. Sean Keyes Dec 3, 1996

Things have been moving slowly for Sean Keyes. He knew this would be difficult, but there’s finding a needle in a haystack and then there’s finding a needle in twenty haystacks. He’s spent his time sifting through hundreds of documents and countless data entries, trying to understand the ‘Predators’; a name Peter Keyes apparently gave them. After the OWLF made contact with the survivor of the Val Verde encounter, Dutch Schaefer, they received a wealth of knowledge that helped define how these creatures operate.

Luring and stalking prey, skinning them and making trophies of their bones. These are the hallmarks of a sport hunter, not a simple carnivore. Furthermore, when Schaefer was completely disarmed, Jungle Hunter removed its own weapons, suggesting a cultural system of honor. After this first encounter, things started to fall in place. Small details and past stories yielded more data in retrospect. From these notes, it looks like Earth has had multiple documented encounters over the past few years, but nothing that yielded more than stories and other anecdotal evidence. OWLF has spent the last few years working on countermeasures and other methods for hunting the Yautja. If they can get the jump on one of the Yautja and catch it alive, the world would change forever. They find it strange that nothing has ever been recovered from a Yautja encounter. No body, limb or even a finger has ever been found. Although, this isn’t entirely surprising. The Yautja are perfectly designed for covert hunting. However, it can see through active infrared scanning. Fortunately, the infrared isn’t too advanced. Dutch Schaefer was able to evadeJungle Hunter's sight by covering himself in cold mud. This led the team to develop a bodysuit that similarly masks the wearer’s infrared signature. They’re still working on ways to counteract the cloaking system, but recent efforts have been encouraging. Predator: Hunting Grounds

Crossing back into the states from Tijuana wasn't that difficult, but by the time he'd reached the city, it was already over. Like Val Verde, the OWLF only found crumbs. What he'd hoped might be an alien ship turned out to be a launching site. Predator: Hunting Grounds

CityHunter Sean Keyes Harrigan July 10, 1997

While OWLF did fail to capture City Hunter, they collected an impressive amount of data on it. Most significantly, an account from Detective Lieutenant Michael Harrigan, who supposedly killed City Hunter with one of its own weapons. In his statement, he reported that, shortly after City Hunter expired a host of ‘older aliens’ appeared. They spared Harrigan, allowing him to leave. Taking the City Hunter's body with them, they launched their spaceship into the night sky. While OWLF retraced Harrigan’s steps based on his testimony. While battling the City Hunter must have had its share of collateral damage, there was little evidence that could be differentiated from the normal gang violence found in Los Angeles.

However, in a rather nondescript alley, they did find something that, while not worth the price OWLF paid, will pave the way to making OWLF's sacrifices not in vain. It was the undeniably extraterrestrial bioluminescent green blood of City Hunter. This, in and of itself, was a remarkable find, but at the end of the blood trail was the City Hunter’s arm. Sean Keyes immediately ordered for the alley to be quarantined, should someone wander onto the find, but it was too late.

Dutch Sean tried to warn off the stranger off with their cover story, but he just laughed from inside the shadows. Sean reached for his sidearm, but then the stranger lit a cigar - it was Dutch Schaefer. OWLF agents swarmed the alley, but Dutch didn’t resist. The last known whereabouts of Dutch were in OWLF custody, shortly after the Val Verde incident and being interviewed by Peter Keyes. Dutch vanished from OWLF custody.

But here he was, in the same place as another Yautja attack. In the debriefing, he tells Sean everything; how he was good friends with Peter Keyes, how he’d been unofficially let go to help hunt down and find these creatures. They have secretly been keeping tabs with each other over the years, sharing discoveries and leads to different Yautja encounters in attempt to stop this threat. After seeing the signs, he, too, showed up in Los Angeles to help track down City Hunter, but limited resources kept him from getting here in time to do anything. He was sympathetic about Peter Keyes' death. It was clear to Dutch how little they knew. They needed someone who understood the threat, so he offered to work with the OWLF as a consulting advisor. They had the funding and the technology Dutch needed to continue his hunt. Predator: Hunting Grounds

Dutch Sean Keyes July 11, 1997

Dutch Schaefer has been surprisingly helpful to OWLF's efforts. He’s offered to help OWLF in exchange for funding and a team. Dutch would be OWLF's on-site agent for any alien incursion. When he says he knows them, how they hunt, Sean Keyes believes him. If Dutch could start bringing back bodies, technology or even just first-hand accounts, OWLF could make huge advancements. Before he left, Dutch brought out what I had seen briefly in the alley; it was a collapsible spear. The same one City Hunter had used against Harrigan. He wanted to keep it as a down payment. While advanced, the spear was relatively rudimentary. Sean was reluctant to let it go, but it seemed like a good faith investment. Though, Sean doubt he could have stopped him, anyway.

The good news is that Dutch gave OWLF a fully functioning helmet. Easily the better part of the bargain. Besides, the wealth of knowledge that the helmet and the arm would bring OWLF would, alone, change the course of history. Predator: Hunting Grounds

South Chilean Coast.

Several miles from one of the archipelagos that make up the South Chilean Coast, a Chilean fishing vessel were into the Humboldt current, watching the approach of a fast-moving weather front, when witnesses a Yautja ship landing in the ocean in the midst of a violent thunderstorm.

The captain radios the Chilean Coast Guard does a surface inspection and finds nothing. An agent in the coast guard forwards the captain's report to an unnamed secret "Organization", headed by "the directors." These "directors" have a past history of trying to deal with the Yautja, and realize what the incident is. The "Organization" assigns one of its top agents, Captain Rafe Cromartie of Special Operations and his team to investigate, and to capture an Yautja and/or its technology. Captain Cromartie's pretty sure he's fishing for Yautja. But knowing what you're fishing for and knowing how to catch it are two totally different things.

The Chilean authorities grant the organization a two-day window of opportunity before sending in the Chilean Navy, the U.S. Military, the CIA, with others to follow. Cromartie's team includes special agent Maria Theresa O'Higgins Pavez, Agents Brahm and Matteson. One of the team receives top secret deep cover emergency training based on the organization's cumulative knowledge of the Yautja.

The Yautja, attracted by a volcanic rift that has caused unnaturally warm waters and opened up a fissure into an undersea, underground world of new life and new creatures to hunt, takes to hunting Cromartie's team as well. Couder is dead, his skull and spine ripped out, and Matteson is missing. That leaves the team no choice -- they have to go back into the waters to search for their absent comrade. They're prepared to battle a Yautja, so they believe they're prepared for the worst, but the horrible truth is that the Yautja may be the least of their troubles.

It is defeated by Cromartie, special agent Maria Theresa O'Higgins Pavez and one of the new unknown life-forms from the fissure that it had been hunting. Agents Brahm and Matteson also survive. Cromartie files a report stating that current policies concerning interception and investigation of the Yautja are totally inadequate and that the mode of operations should be changed or it will only cause the death of more agents. He resigns his command. Predator: Hell and Hot Water

Batman Robin 1997

Summer

Gotham, suffering again from sweltering temperatures and increased gang warfare, finds itself with more mysterious deaths. Aided now by his ward, Robin, Batman worries that this may be yet another series of hunts by the brutal Yautja - yet refuses to disclose this to his partner, which only serves to irk Robin. Indeed, not one, but two beasts are prowling in Gotham: An elder creature who seems to tell stories of previous hunts to his younger partner.

Gotham's criminal population continues unaware of the visitors, until Mr. Freeze and his associates are attacked by the two cloaked Yautja. Though all of his nearby henchmen are killed, Freeze is left alive, as his lowered body temperature makes him invisible to the Yautja's infrared vision. Despite Robin's questions about the bizarre attacks, Batman does not reveal anything more than what Robin has already overheard, though he agrees to let Robin aid him until Freeze is found. Batman later confides to Alfred that he's keeping Robin at distance to prevent the boy from becoming another Yautja mark.

Oracle Batman attacks one of the aliens with a "stolen" helicopter with many technological advances (the craft actually belonged to Wayne Technologies), inadvertently saving Catwoman's life in the process (and convincing her to take a night off from her jewel-thieving plans). Batman discovers the second Yautja, too late to prevent the copter from being destroyed, though he's able to eject. Meanwhile, Robin learns many of the details during his computer research on the previous "hunts" through confidential government files, after taking advice from Barbara Gordon (under the alias "Oracle"). He also successfully tracks down Mr. Freeze and subdues him. When questioned, Freeze reveals the creatures did not seem to have even seen him.

With Freeze now in custody, Batman orders Robin to lie low, further aggravating the youth. Bruce manipulates WayneTech into closing down for 24 hours to provide a battleground he can control, in an effort to defeat the beasts. He also modifies the powered exosuit he used in his first encounter to mask his body temperature, correctly assessing from Freeze's incident that the Yautja's vision is thermal-based. The plan works, but only lures one of the two. Responding to Batman's confusion, and using Tim Drake's voice, he indicates that it is now tracking Robin - who, ironically, is at a drive-in theater with friends, watching old science-fiction alien flicks.

Alfred contacts Robin, who immediately accepts the truth when he sees the creature's silhouette and returns to the Bat-Cave. Alfred reveals what little they know of their assailants before they are attacked. The two are nearly caught, until Batman returns, carrying one of the elder Yautja's ornaments and telling the younger hunter to cut his losses, take his defeated (and still living) father and return home. When questioned, Batman reveals that they were chosen as targets because the Yautja saw them as they themselves were: father and son warriors. Batman versus Predator III: Blood Ties

Garber Dutch Sean Keyes 1997

Sept 21

Agent Adam Garber has been chosen to head up OWLF operations, but has chosen Sean Keyes to help him directly with research and operational efforts. OWLF managed to secure a massive extension to their funding after we presented the helmet and City Hunter's severed arm. After discussing it with Garber, Sean convinced him to keep Dutch Schaefer and his crew off the record as much as possible. Dutch can do so much more working alongside OWLF than he ever could, working for them officially. Appropriated funds for Dutch and his team have been marked as ‘Cleaning Services’.

Studying the arm has revealed so much about the Yautja physiology and they are just now scratching the surface of what the helmet can do. There’s also a damaged computer still attached to the wrist, which must’ve been destroyed by whatever severed the arm. It will be a slow process deconstructing, analyzing, reverse-engineering the alien technology, but every discovery will be monumental they we learn more and more from a species much more advanced than Earth's. OWLF ran extensive genetic tests on City Hunter's arm, the results of which could lead to huge medical breakthroughs. It also gave them clues to the atmospheric make-up of their homeworld and how viable it would be to sustain human life, should they ever find a way to get there. Judging by the elasticity of the skin, they think that City Hunter was a juvenile of the species. This would line up with Detective Harrigan’s account of the LA encounter. With that in mind, one could theorize that its hunt may have been an initiation into adulthood. Carbon dating of the bone structure puts the City Hunter’s age at a minimum of three hundred years, which draws into question the lifespan of a Yautja. If their assumptions are correct, they could be talking upwards of a thousand years or more, possibly more.

The Yautja mask is likely a mundane, utilitarian item to the Yautja, but the technology involved is staggering. Aside from the respiratory functions, the visor built into the mask is capable of displaying multiple multiple visual frequencies. This explains how the City Hunter found and killed the OWLF team in the slaughterhouse. OWLF assumed they only had access to infrared, but they were clearly wrong. What still confuses Sean Keyes, though, was how, with such extraordinary technology, the Yautja express a seemingly tribal culture. They have such a strong focus on honor, trophies and worthy opponents – things humans left behind as it developed. Sean debates whether these technological advances were not developed by the Yautja species, but taken from another. Predator: Hunting Grounds

OWLF had their first strong lead since the LA encounter in 1997. At 2 AM, a Special Forces group in Cambodia went MIA. The OWLF was alerted about the missing soldiers when ‘skinned bodies’ was flagged in an update to military intelligence. OWLF dispatched Dutch Schaefer and his crew to the location within hours. OWLF research suggests that the Yautja hunting grounds are active for roughly a week and then, they assume, they return to their homeworld.

What’s worrying OWLF is that the rate of detection seems to be escalating. Either OWLF is finding more Yautja or they’re sending more. This is exciting to OWLF, but it’s also worrying. If the number of Yautja events is increasing, OWLF will inevitably cross a threshold where there are too many to handle. Dutch Schaefer’s team is highly effective at dealing with the menace as it is now, but unless OWLF develop an advantage, humanity isn’t prepared to face Yautja invasion. Predator: Hunting Grounds

WildCATS 1998

A Stormwatch escape pod, containing a scarred Flint, crash landing in New York City. The resulting rescue, retrieval and debriefing are witnessed by Grifter and Void. Grifter hears Flint's description of the kiande amedha, and mistakenly believes the kiande amedha to be Daemonite and quickly gathers up the original WildC.A.T.S team sans Voodoo for a rescue mission to the Stormwatch space station, Skywatch.

Void teleports the team to the station where they quickly uncover a video log and security tapes depicting the events that led up to the kiande amedha attack. A mysterious asteroid was passing nearby and a Stormwatch science team was dispatched to take surface samples and to plant explosives that redirect it into the sun. Skywatch lost contact with the team but their ships automatically returned to Skywatch. They quickly found themselves out of their depths and dealing with an unknown kiande amedha. The kiande amedha ripped through the stations slaughtering and infecting the majority of the crew. The Stormwatch superhuman team attempted to fight them off but were ultimately wiped out, yet there were indications of a small group of survivors hidden away on the satellite.

After watching the footage the WildC.A.T.S continue to look for the survivors, eventually finding them hidden in their cryogenic lock down section. The survivors included Jackson King, Christine Trelane, Winter and 96 crew members. With help of Void, most of the crew and all of the WildC.A.T.S escaped, injured but alive. Winter, however, stayed behind to pilot the station into the sun, ensuring that the kiande amedhas weren't able to spread to the Earth.

Winter was believed dead at the time, but later returned. Winter's energy absorbing powers had allowed him to survive in the Sun but he had been driven mad and all The Doctor could do was imprison him there. Stormwatch Black (Jenny Sparks, Jack Hawksmoor and Swift) were not on board the station. They would go on to form the core of the new team: The Authority. WildCATS vs Aliens

Nevada Desert.

Multi-billionaire Tyler Stern, owner of an experimental complex, has managed to capture a Yautja. They severed its arm at the elbow before the Yautja could activate the computer self-destruct. The complex's bio-dome has recreated that Stern believes to be the Yautja's natural habitat: a hot and humid tropical climate, a high methane content atmosphere.

US Special Forces Officer Faulkner joins Stern's team undercover as head of security, but really to keep tabs on the Yautja. He has faced them before in Nicaragua in 1984.

As the humans study it, it studied them - testing their limits of defense. By the time Falkner becomes head of security, there were several anomalies in their surveillance systems - total blackouts with video cameras and motion trackers, recorded pressure drops in atmospheric integrity (suggesting unauthorized entrance or exit from the dome).

studypred The Yautja is a hunter. It's patient. It knows how to bide it's time. Its patience pays off; 8 armed personnel are slain by the one-armed Yautja. Realizing the danger, Faulkner calls in an assault team known as Nimrod Squadron to shut down the facility. Stern takes its severed limb to it, but the Yautja activates the self-destruct, destroying the biosphere and the approaching team's helicopters. Predator: Captive

Dutch Schaefer’s team managed to secure an intact piece of the Yautja weaponry. They tracked and killed the Yautja while somehow snagging its shoulder cannon before a group of ‘Elders’ showed up for the body, exactly as it happened in LA in 1997. The Elders either didn’t know or didn’t care that Dutch Schaefer stole the gun.

OWLF was running preliminary tests on composition and rudimentary functionality and Sean Keyes would like to get those nailed down before anyone even thinks about attempting to fire it. And based on how Dutch Schaefer describes it, there was a preternatural connection between the weapon and the Yautja, itself, which would imply advanced biometric controls. Alternatively, there could be a more direct connection with its mask. Predator: Hunting Grounds

[sperling] 1999

Late Sept

The Montana portion of Yellowstone Park.

The beginning of the Elk Rut: George Sperling, a photographer, notices what he initially thought was a shooting star, but it lasted too long for a regular meteor. Later, he takes photos as usual of local wildlife. Later that night, he heard shrieking around him. By morning, he went looking for the Elk herd but they were slaughtered. One elk had been carried off almost a half a mile and stung 30 feet up in a tree. Further down, he found a slaughtered black bear. Racing, hoping to catch the culprits, he looks up in the tree line. He saw a Yautja. This one was dressed in typical battle armor. He managed to take a somewhat bad picture of the Yautja before it leapt away to chase a barking dog. He is a photographer: this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

[Bergstrom ] Two days later. Same local:

Naturalist Dr. Maya Bergstrom is working on the wolf reintroduction program in Yellowstone. She has the feeling of being watched, from above. It's the same feeling she always get when she's near a Yautja on the prowl. She follows her instincts, curious. It led her into the geyser county, towards the hot springs and boiling mud holes. Not much can stand the heat and sulphur fumes. Most anything that stumbles into the area dies pretty quickly. She notices that one of the bigger pools' water level had risen since the last time she was there. As though something big had been dropped in it. Then she is attacked by a Yautja. It wears only body mesh, a mask, and Ki'cti-pa (Wrist Blades), as well as a polearm. It wears a belt as well. Its arms are decorated with tattoos. Bergstrom drops her weapon, and the Yautja turns and heads for the trees. She follows it, starting to takes very efficient notes via tape recorder. She is a biologist: this is her once-in -a-lifetime opportunity.

George Sperling stumbles down toward a survivalist-type cabin. There he witnesses three Yautja in battle gear slaughtering a family (a mother, father, two children, and a small dog). Sperling believed they were 'wilding'.

Later that night, the tattooed Yautja inspects the area. Dr. Bergstrom walks in the cabin, to see the slaughtered family.

One day later.

Bergstrom continued to follow the tattooed Yautja. They come up to a small herd of bison of perhaps twenty. The Yautja threw aside his weapon and leapt toward the charging bison. It rode the bison for a while, then flipped over its head and threw the bison several feet. Then, without warning, both the bison and the Yautja stopped. The Yautja approached the beast, and patted it on the head. This Yautja has a reverence for nature.

Sperling was becoming frustrated. He had lost the three Bad Bloods, but he did run into two humans on the hunt. Armed with shotguns, they slaughtered them too. One took a trophy as Sperling took pictures and, once the Bad Bloods were gone, a shotgun.

Later, Bergstrom watched as the tattooed Yautja dug up some roots and ate it. She wondered how it knew what to eat, and where to look for it. Were they from Earth? After she awoke, she realized she was alone. Rushing to find the Yautja, she runs into a very scared Sperling. Very soon, they are attacked by the Bad Bloods. Bergstrom is confident that disarming would save them, but these creatures are not pacifists. Before the Bad Bloods could kill the humans, the tattooed Yautja interferes. He kills one Bad Blood before they run off, leaving the tattooed Yautja injured. He places his weapon between himself and the humans, signifying that they should leave him be.

Then the humans realize: Carfax is only 600 miles away, and there are still two blood-hungry Yautja on the loose. The Bad Bloods couldn't count on the random hiker or ranger to satisfy their urge to kill and display their skill. The humans follow the tattooed Yautja. In a clearing, hanging in the trees, were eight skulls. The Yautja began cutting them down. Even the humans understand: this wasn't a kill site. The three Bad Bloods went to the trouble to bring the skulls from somewhere else. Sperling deduces that the display was aimed at the tattooed Yautja. Leaving body parts lying around would be a slap in the face. Otherwise, the Yautja is upset that they are just killing things, instead of hunting and trophy-taking.

They continue on, following the displays the Bad Bloods left. It's like they were marking their trail. Sperling believes this is a scouting party for an invasion, gauging the strength of an enemy. They use weapons "about as sophisticated as a machete" because of a ritual aspect. Bergstrom reiterates her theory of the Yautja being from Earth. Sperling takes the last of his photographs with the sunset as a backdrop and places the roll in a hollow tree.

They reach Carfax, and everything seems peaceful. Then the three Bad Blood pounced on them from the trees. The tattooed Yautja attacks. There was no honor here, just young rogues taking on the leader of the pride. He was good, but not a match for all three. Sperling joined the fight, attaching one of the Bad Blood. The third Bad Blood knocked down Sperling as the tattooed Yautja killed one Bad Blood. Sperling passed out. Bergstrom managed to tie a tourniquet around his leg before she passed out from sheer shock. When Sperling came to, his left foot was missing.

Bergstrom wonders if the tattooed Yautja lived to make it back to his home, if he died on the spot, or if he found one last opponent (a bear?) and went down in battle.

5 days later:

Dr. Bergstrom and George Sperling are interviewed about their experiences with the Yautja. They had already confiscated Dr. Bergstrom's tape journal and all of Sperling's photographs. They are most interested in their tales, making certain "that no one is affected by it." All they want to know is about the Yautja's behavior. The man in black was most interested in the theory of Dr. Bergstrom's common ancestry with the Yautja. The man investigating emails his field people. The email is double-encrypted, and listed under park department communiques to throw off hackers (hackers rarely read these reports- boring). The email states a big problem: altering park entry records, getting rid of vehicles the victims might have left. In other words, false trails, to make it look like they disappeared anywhere but the park. Then, on top of this, he has to clean up the witness problem. Sperling knows he would be made to disappear, too. The man in black begins to make arrangements to tell Dr. Bergstrom's husband has been killed in a bear attack. The doctor's team is ready to set an appropriate scene, wounds and so forth.

Sperling's last shots of the Yautja, the ones taken at sunset, remain undiscovered in the hollow tree. Predator: Homeworld

Green Lantern 2000

Sept

The Signet Dawn, a Coluian long-range ore transport vessel, crashes onto the planet Mogo.

Xudarian Tomar-Dar, Brik, Ash, M'Hdahna and Salaak - 5 extraterrestrials and Green Lanterns prior to Parallax (Hal Jordan)'s destruction of the Green Lanterns Corps - appear on Earth in the apartment of Kyle Rayner, who is the current and only Green Lantern in existence. They inform Rayner of the Signet Dawn's crash on Mogo.

The six then journey to Mogo to rescue the ship's crew. Inside the hull of the ship, they encounter Crowe, the ship's first officer, who tells Rayner that after the crash, the kiande amedha carried off the other 37 crew members, but left her for some reason. Crowe leads Rayner and the others deeper into the ship, where the kiande amedha attack them, taking Rayner's companions captive, leaving only him, Crowe and Salaak. When Rayner tries to grab Tomar as he is pulled down a shaft, his power ring slips off his finger and falls down the shaft.

The trio then climb down the shaft - Kyle and Salaak subsequently settling any remaining tension between them when Salaak apologizes for judging Kyle by what he was not rather than what he was, and discover five of Crowe's crewmates, cocooned by the kiande amedha, four of which have been killed by Chestbursters. The kiande amedha then attack the trio, and Crowe and Rayner flee through a passageway, separated from Salaak. They then come across a chamber where they discover a Queen, with the remainder of Crowe's crew and Rayner's companions cocooned around the walls, and Rayner's power ring on the floor. After exchanging a brief kiss for luck, Crowe jumps into the chamber firing at the kiande amedha to distract them while Rayner goes for his ring. During this attempt, the skin on the right half of Crowe's face is ripped away, revealing that she is a gynoid. Rayner reacquires his ring.

Crowe, fatally damaged during the melee, tells Rayner that he shouldn't leave the kiande amedha alive to endanger someone else in the future as Jordan did, so Rayner destroys the kiande amedha, rescuing the surviving Signet Dawn crew and his companions. Ash, Brik and Salaak do not survive. Rayner is left with the thought that sometimes the past comes back to haunt you no matter what one does, another reminder of the legacy of Hal Jordan that looms over him. Green Lantern vs Aliens

dominators Manhunter 2000

December

JLA Watchtower, Earth's Moon.

A Dominion spacecraft nears the tower. It will remain viable for only a few moments longer. They are leaking oxygen and feeding the on-board fire. J'onn J'onzz is on duty and tries hailing them. There is no response. He reports to Oracle he is pulling them in. The aliens are trying to reach Earth with their transporters but they're out of range. So, he links the Tower's transporters to those on the craft.

The Dominators are angered J'onn intercepted their transport beam. Believing themselves captives they attempt to fight back. However, J'onn becomes intangible and uses his heat vision to heat up their weapons. Subdued, they tell J'onn that by saving them, they have begun the Hunt.

J'onn barely survives a Yautja plasma blast and phases through the floor. He informs Oracle of the new intruder, and that the intruder is blocking his telepathy. Oracle wants to call other JLA to the Tower, but J'onn asks her to wait. Then her line with him goes dead when the intruder attacks him from behind.

Oracle Superman Green Lantern Oracle summons Batman, Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), and Superman. Batman can't teleport up because the controls are locked. Superman and Kyle Rainer fly up. In the meantime, Oracle contacts the other members: Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Plastic Man, and Atom.

Superman and Green Lantern arrive at the Tower. After Superman unlocks the controls, they find J'onn's head on a stake. Superman fills in Green Lantern on what the Yautja are (himself and Batman having previous run-ins with them). Then a headless J'onn stumbles in, still alive. (The only way he can be truly killed is with fire). J'onn reattaches his head, admitting he couldn't sense the attacker's mind.

Batman arrives to look J'onn over, and informs his partners there is no one else in the Tower. The Yautja and the Dominators all teleported to Earth, in three separate locations. He assigns three teams to hunt for the Dominators, and to find out why the Yautja are hunting them.

Aquaman Wonder Woman Plastic Man Venice, Earth. Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Plastic Man, while searching for the Dominator, are attacked by the Yautja. One follows Aquaman underwater. Another follows Wonder Woman, attacking with a lasso while cloaked. Wonder Woman tries to take the battle away from the area, but her double, W-Yautja, ensnares her in his lasso, floods her body with electricity, and brings her back down. Plastic Man, in the form of a plane, is trying to avoid his double, P-Yautja, who is also in plane form. He manages, however, to find the Dominator.

Aquaman spots the sighting mechanism on his chest and avoids the blast. He pinpoints the origin and attacks his double, A-Yautja. Wonder Woman uses W-Yautja's lasso to get near him and punches it with all her strength. W-Yautja is dazed, but is still able to get up. Plastic Man intervenes to save her just as Aquaman is hurled out of the water. He again hails the Tower, but J'onn doesn't respond.

JLA Watchtower, Earth's Moon. J'onn has discovered that his double is still on board. This is why he is not answering the hails.

Flash Atom Amazon Jungle. Kyle, Flash, and Atom search for the second Dominator. Flash finds him in no time. However, each hero is attacked by their double. They decide to split up and run. F-Yautja manages to catch up and swipe Flash. GL-Yautja manages to negate a monster created by GL's ring, to his surprise: he didn't think his ring had a weakness. Atom and his double go subatomic. Atom hurls a positive electron at his Yautja. It shorts out his circuits. No one seems to be getting the upper hand, and J'onn is still occupied.

Batman England, the lake district on the NW coast, just below Scotland. Batman and Superman hunt the last Dominator, but they too are attacked by doubles. S-Yautja is moving at super speed, and so Superman can't see him. When he does stop, though, Superman attacks. Batman, thanks to the Dominator's yell, dodges blast from his double at the last second.

JLA Watchtower, Earth's Moon. Finally they are all teleported back to the Tower. J'onn J'onzz explains why he didn't do it earlier. Then Batman confronts the Dominators, asking why they came to Earth. They admit it was to seek their protection. The Dominators confess they controlled the Yautja. They were cloned and DNA-modified to kill the JLA. However, the Meta-Yautja's awoke early, killed all in the facility, and hunted the first three to Earth.

The Meta-Yautja managed to get back into the Tower. Aquaman decides to switch which Yautja they fight. This proves effective as they together take down the Meta-Yautja. Rather than be captives, the Yautja blast a hole in the wall and are sucked out into the vacuum of space. Despite the knowledge the Dominators make to create more Meta-Yautja, the JLA put them back into their ship and send them home. They have no choice - J'onn telepathically forced them not to prevent it. JLA vs Predator

Sean Keyes Dutch 2001

Apr 4

While Sean Keyes has had basic training, he usually stays away from field duty. However, it seemed prudent to have first-hand knowledge of the Yautja. And as Dutch Schaefer continues to prove himself an expert tracker, Sean was guaranteed a sighting if he went on the next mission. Sean opted out of arming himself, as previous accounts describe the Yautja sparing the unarmed. After infiltration, they quickly walked into a guerilla ambush. And at this particular moment Sean regretted his decision to go unarmed, but he kept his head down while Dutch and his team did their work. And after the dust settled, they heard a deafening roar.

In the clearing a massive, unmasked Yautja stood, staring Dutch Schaefer down in complete silence. After what seemed like minutes, it let out another roar and it charged. And as it was closing in, the Yautja threw a knife that missed Dutch, but grazed Sean's arm. Unphased, Dutch grabbed a spear from his back and thrust it into the Yautja’s chest. The spear missed its vital organs, so the Yautja continued to fight Dutch before escaping into the jungle. Minutes later, they felt the ground rumble as a spacecraft lifted into the air and then left the planet entirely. Predator: Hunting Grounds

Superman/Aliens 2002

Darkseid acquires several kiande amedha Ovomorphs, subsequently sending them to New Genesis within several Parademons and unleashing them on his foes, with an embryo even infesting Orion.

Learning that he will die from the embryo within him, Orion accompanies Superman on a mission to Apokolips to destroy the Queen, despite the lack of sunlight on Apokolips weakening Superman's powers and Orion growing ever weaker from the embryo within him. Despite the odds, they manage to destroy the Queen. Darkseid subsequently uses his Omega Beams to destroy the embryo within Orion, claiming that Orion may be Darkseid's enemy, but he is also his son, and it would be unfitting for him to die in such a dishonorable manner.

After Superman and Orion's departure, however, Darkseid reveals to Desaad that actually Orion being infested was the central focus of his plan; with Orion having been given some evidence that Darkseid may still think of him as a son, his loyalties to New Genesis may become divided at some crucial future date.

Darkseid and Desaad then look in at a room filled with Facehugger-infected Parademons in stasis. Superman/Aliens 2: GodWar
