The Serengeti hosts the largest terrestrial mammal migration in the world, which helps secure it as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa and one of the ten natural travel wonders of the world. The Serengeti is also renowned for its large lion population and is one of the best places to observe prides in their natural environment. The region contains the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania and several game reserves. Approximately 70 large mammal and 500 bird species are found there. This high diversity is a function of diverse habitats, including riverine forests, swamps, kopjes, grasslands, and woodlands. Blue wildebeests, gazelles, zebras, and buffalo are some of the commonly found large mammals in the region.

Antarctica, the southernmost continent and site of the South Pole, is a virtually uninhabited, ice-covered landmass. Most cruises to the continent visit the Antarctic Peninsula, which stretches toward South America. It's known for the Lemaire Channel and Paradise Harbor, striking, iceberg-flanked passageways, and Port Lockroy, a former British research station turned museum. The peninsula's isolated terrain also shelters rich wildlife, including many penguins.
In 10,000 BC, the Yautja arrived on Earth, where they teach pyode amedha (humans) to build pyramids, and are subsequently worshiped as gods. At the Antarctica pyramid, young Yautja hunt kiande amedha as part of rite of passage. For this purpose, the Yautja capture a Queen and hold it captive in the Antarctica pyramid by chains, forced to produce Ovomorphs. When not producing Ovomorphs, the Queen is kept in hibernation, until the Yautja warriors arrive again. pyode amedha (humans) are then as hosts for the facehuggers. This civilization located in a huge cavern beneath the volcanic Bouvet Island grows to the height of its power.
The Yautja return to Earth every 100 years until 2004 to begin their rite of passage anew. The Yautja are prepared to activate their self-destruct mechanisms if overwhelmed by the Kiande Amedha.
By Oct 10 1904, the whaler Emma, having successfully hunted almost 300 whales during the whaling season, sees strange lights in the sky. The crew then discover a Yautja pod. They bring it to the camp. Karl Johanssen watches the Yautja kill his crew mates and flees to the ice. Later, Karl returns almost dead by hypothermia. Before he died, he witnesses a Yautja fight a Kiande Amedha in the mess hall.
Sept 22, 1979: the Vela Incident occurs. It will be later theorized by Sebastian de Rosa to be caused by a Yautja self-destruct device. The investigator in charge was Colonel Alexander Woods.

This uninhabited volcanic island, known as “the loneliest place on earth,” is the most remote in the world, located halfway between South Africa and Antarctica. The Island was originally discovered by Jean-Baptiste Charles Bouvet de Lozier on January 1, 1739 and since 1927 is occasionally used by scientific parties for monitoring whale migration.
Bouvet's vegetation is limited to lichens and mosses, and its only fauna are seals, seabirds, and penguins. Essentially, Bouvet is an ice-covered, glacier-surrounded, inhospitable lump. Thus it’s incredibly difficult to actually set foot on the island due to the high glacial cliffs that surround it.
In 1896, part of Bouvet Island is destroyed by, seemingly, a volcanic eruption, spooking the local whaling community.
In 1903, the whaler Emma. Sven sets sail from Norway, hoping to make his fortune at Bouvet Whaling Station in Antarctica.
In 1964, an abandoned boat was discovered on the island, along with various supplies; however, the boat’s passengers were never found. The identity of the travelers is still unknown.
In 1971, Bouvet Island and its adjacent territorial waters were designated a nature reserve.
On September 22 1979, a bright flash of light was seen between Bouvet and Prince Edward Islands by the United States’ Vela satellite. Known as the Vela Incident, it is now believed that the flash was caused by a secret South African-Israeli joint nuclear bomb detonation, though neither country has officially admitted to such. While a double-flash signal is characteristic of a nuclear weapons test in the atmosphere, the signal could also have been due to a meteoroid hitting the Vela satellite. All of the previous 41 double flashes detected by the Vela satellites were confirmed to be nuclear explosions. Some information about the event remains classified.

c2116, there was a paleontological dig led by Dr Kucien Keitel deep within Australia's great sandy desert where a team funded by Geholgod discovered a strata of shale that predated by a billion years the oldest previously known formations. It was etched with unnervingly abundant traces of life.
Australia was affected by the global kiande amedha infestation during the Earth War in the 2190s. The EarthGov mission launched the transport vessel Benedict from a military launch pad in Toowoomba, Australia to gain an Kiande Amedha specimen from an Kiande Amedha-controlled planet. In 2193, the continent was infested to a degree where a strict quarantine was placed on the continent, isolating it from the rest of the world. Every attempt to travel to or escape from Australia was met with deadly military force. Earth, and Australia, would eventually be reclaimed by mankind.

Brodilovo is a thriving self-contained remote village in the Strandzha mountains of southeastern Bulgaria, within the range of the national park preserve, and part of Tsarevo Municipality, Burgas Province. The name of the village is derived from its loation near a convenient river ford. Historically a center of Thracian folklore and artisans, there are many unexcavated sites close by, though there is no maping of the numerous trails and watercourses, partly because of it being in a sensitive border area with Turkey.
Saint George came here to convert it to Christianity, but encountered both an kiande amedha and a Yautja.

Cambodia is a Southeast Asian nation whose landscape spans low-lying plains, the Mekong Delta, mountains and Gulf of Thailand coastline. Phnom Penh, its capital, is home to the art deco Central Market, glittering Royal Palace and the National Museum's historical and archaeological exhibits. In the country's northwest are the ruins of Angkor Wat, a massive stone temple complex built during the Khmer Empire.
In 2000 BC, Northern Cambodia, Fuman, a young Cambodian hunter, and three others hunt wild pigs near the Yautja's pyramid temple where they conduct their Rite of Passage hunt. Three hunters are killed by a Kiande Amedha. Funan is badly injured and, before passing out, he sees one Yautja fight a Kiande Amedha. Unfortunately, the Yautja hunting expedition goes awry when the Kiande Amedha multiply out of control. So, the Yautja wipe out all trace of the infestation by using their Self-Destruction devices.
Sergeant Blain Cooper fought alongside Sergeant Mac Eliot during the Vietnam War as part of the 101st Airborne Division, including operations in Cambodia. At one point, their platoon was ambushed south of Khe San (between January 21, 1968 – July 9, 1968) and virtually wiped out, with everyone other than Blain and Mac being killed, although the two survivors walked out without a scratch.
Alan "Dutch" Schaefer's private military team pursued operations in Cambodia in the early 1980s.

In the town, the huge Porte Chaussée gate was once part of the city's medieval walls.
The Battle of Verdun, fought from 21 February to 18 December 1916, was one of the largest and longest battles of the First World War on the Western Front between the German and French armies.

In feudal Japan under shogun Minamoto no Yoritomo, Nasu Hiroto, a disgraced former samurai, is offered a chance at redemption if he will hunt and kill the mysterious demon (a Yautja) that is slaughtering all who come to face it.

On August 6, 1945 the US dropped an atomic bomb ("Little Boy") on Hiroshima, , a modern city on Japan’s Honshu Island, during the final stage of World War II. Three days later a second atomic bomb ("Fat Man") was dropped on the city of Nagasaki. These were the only times nuclear weapons have been used in war.
According to later US government records, the heat and conflict from the bombs in 1945 attracted the Yautja.
Today, Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park commemorates the 1945 event. In the park are the ruins of Genbaku Dome, one of the few buildings that was left standing near ground zero. Japan- Tokyo

Tokyo, Japan's busy capital, mixes the ultramodern and the traditional, from neon-lit skyscrapers to historic temples. The opulent Meiji Shinto Shrine is known for its towering gate and surrounding woods. The Imperial Palace sits amid large public gardens. The city's many museums offer exhibits ranging from classical art (in the Tokyo National Museum) to a reconstructed kabuki theater (in the Edo-Tokyo Museum).
Li Yat Sen is born here in 1320. Circa 1358, playing a sage, he peddles elixirs and functions to dimwitted mountain villagers in Tokyo. This cure, however (all of snake blood, ginseng and urine) fermented into a toxic brew. Seventeen died. The rest smashed his chest like porcelain, drove him out to a slow death, breathing his own blood as night and cold closed in when he witnessed a Yautja ship crash. To him, it is an opportunity, for he believes that the Yautja hold the key to eternal life.
c1700-1709: Shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi was the fifth shogun of the Tokugawa dynasty of Japan. He was attacked by a group of Yautja. It ended in a duel between one Yautja and a blind swordsman, who was chosen by Shinto monks. The Shinto monks make prophecy that the duel will continue in the future where the swordsman will have to face the Yautja again in another duel. This occurs in 1992.
Jupiter

In 1610, Galileo Galilei found the first moons beyond Earth - those surrounding Jupiter.
It is fifth in line from the Sun and the largest planet in the solar system. It is a gas giant and doesn't have a solid surface, but it may have a solid inner core about the size of Earth. Jupiter also has rings, but they're too faint to see very well.
Jupiter's familiar stripes and swirls are actually cold, windy clouds of ammonia and water, floating in an atmosphere of hydrogen and helium. Jupiter’s iconic Great Red Spot is a giant storm bigger than Earth that has raged for hundreds of years.
One spacecraft — NASA's Juno orbiter — is currently exploring this giant world in 2019.
Jupiter: Europa

One of Jupiter's moons, named for a woman who, in Greek mythology, was abducted by the god Zeus — Jupiter in Roman mythology. Discovered in 1610. Scientists are almost certain that hidden beneath the icy surface of Europa is a salty-water ocean thought to contain twice as much water as Earth’s oceans combined.
Slightly smaller than Luna, Europa’s water-ice surface is crisscrossed by long, linear fractures, cracks, ridges, and bands. The moon’s ice shell is probably 10 to 15 miles (15 to 25 kilometers) thick, beneath which the ocean is estimated to be 40 to 100 miles (60 to 150 kilometers) deep. Like Earth, Europa is thought to also contain a rocky mantle and iron core.
Became notable for the discovery of micro-organisms gathering near thermal vents beneath the moon's ice layer in 2017, concluding the JIMO project revived by Weyland Industries. By the year 2071, Europa was monitored by a permanent orbital research station.

The Luna colony, also sometimes known as the Luna 1 or One Colony, is mankind's first settlement outside Earth. It was formed by many nation states parking a few habitation madules from various powers in the allied powers like Japan, United States, France, ect.

The colony's infrastructure consists of mining, transportation, refining and heavy industry, its key resources being helium-3, hydrogen, aluminum, silica, water and oxygen.

Mars

The fourth planet from the Sun and the second-smallest lanet in the Solar System, after Mercury. Named after the Roman god of War, it is often refered to as the "Red Planet" because the iron oxide prevalent on the surface gives it a reddish appearance. It is a terrestrial planet with a thin atmosphere, having surface features reminiscent of the impact craters of the Moon and the valleys, deserts, and polar ice caps of Earth.
By 2019, humans were aware that Mars had frozen water and used to have an atmosphere.
By the year 2071, Mars was home to almost 40 million colonists and became known for its weapon research facilities and advanced Atmosphere Processors.
Weyland Industries had offices on Mars, also serving as Peter Weyland's temporary residence in 2091, shortly before secretly joining the mission of the research vessel Prometheus.
Brilecki University has a campus here.
- Valles Marineris: One of the largest canyons in the solar system. Camp Hanneken, a USCM training facility for advanced hostile environments, is located here. A notable example for USCM soldiers undergoing training at Camp Hanneken was Jeremy Cruz.
- Acidalia Desert / Acidalia Planitia: Despite the fact that Mars had been colonised since the twenty-first century, the Acidalia Desert remained unpopulated by the year 2179. During this year, USCM officer Patrick Steele chose the Acidalia Desert as the crash site for the Sulaco, which was infested with kiande amedha. An override issued by Weyland-Yutani representative Sean Davis, however, prevented the impact.
- Valles Colony: The first colony on Mars, founded in 2040, it housed almost 17 million inhabitants by the year 2071. Valles Colony was mainly established to mine and process the planet's rich deposits of rare metals. The colony's industry additionally consisted of light and heavy manufacturing. Key resources were niobium, europium, neodymium, copper and chromium..
- Leo Colony: The second colony on Mars. Founded in 2041. Had a population of over 22 million by the year 2071. Notable for its advanced weapons and Terraforming research operations, featuring the largest array of Atmosphere Processors in the system. Additionally, Leo Colony was prolific in the fields of tourism, mining and light and heavy manufacturing. The key resources were cerium, nickel, tungsten and neodymium.
Mars- Phobos

The larger one of the two moons of Mars. Phobos' atmosphere was Terraformed during an unspecified timespan, creating air that was breathable by pyode amedha (humans).
During the 2170s, Weyland-Yutani maintained Phobos Research Station on Phobos, a biological research station. The part of the installation above surface mainly consisted of a reception area and a communications tower. The bulk of the facility was located underground, extending several hundreds of meters below the surface. The upper floors in this part were occupied by maintenance areas and terminal access points, while the eight lowest floors housed the research and experimentation facilities and the specimen containment chambers.
Sometime during the 2170s, Weyland-Yutani obtainedOvomorphs by unspecified means, which were transferred to Phobos. There, the team of scientists began to conduct breeding experiments with various types of Simians. The experiments created monstrous hybrids, which were contained in the specimen chambers on the lowest floors. An unspecified accident occurred at the station that released the kiande amedha hybrids, which proceeded to eradicate the science personnel. A last ditch effort by the surviving researchers was made to hole themselves up in the communications tower. Additionally, UA 575 sentry guns were placed to protect the access to the tower. However, a particularly large hybrid broke through the barriers and killed off the last remaining pyode amedha (humans).
Shortly before the outbreak, the Phobos Research Station was expecting a cargo of new Ovomorph from the Sulaco, which had been taken over by Weyland-Yutani. However, USCM soldiers were also present aboard the vessel as it reached Phobos, and when the facility failed to respond to communication attempts, the marines went down to the surface to investigate. The UA 575s still blocked access to the comm tower, so the marines proceeded to explore the underground portion of the station in order to find an override device for the sentry guns. As the soldiers traversed through the bowels of the base, they soon realized what had happened to the facility. The USCM also encountered live Simian kiande amedha roaming the installation. On sub-floor 8, the soldiers finally located an override device and entered the comm tower. There, the fire team fought and killed the large hybrid specimen that was still present on the uppermost floor. When the fight was over, the marines left the installation and returned to the Sulaco.

Malaysia- Bunting Islands

Bunting Island is the northernmost in a row of islands off Yan district in Kedah, Malaysia. It is also the only one to be linked to the mainland by a bridge - the Bunting Island Bridge.
The Bunting Islands were first settled in the 1800's by Malcolm Bunting, a wealthy but eccentric New Zealand merchant who had visions of creating a tropical utopia. The current steward is Bunting's great grandson, Dr. Henry Bunting.
MegaCity One / Undercity

The cities of the Eastern Seaboard of the United States had become so polluted that by the end of the twenty-first century they were simply sealed over with concrete, and a new city was built on top. This city was to be named Mega-City One, whilst the remains of the old city below became known as "the Undercity". A few significant buildings were moved to the Mega-City for the tourists.
The Undercity is inhabited by various mutants and criminals (or perps as they are called). The inhabitants are often blind and sometimes mutated.
Mr Bones bring kiande amedha into Mega-City One. The Hive is grown out of sight in the Undercity right below the Grand Hall of Justice and his plan is to use explosives to blow a hole big enough to flood the centre of justice with kiande amedha.
Mexico

Balancán (municipality) is a municipality in Tabasco in south-eastern Mexico.
A thatch hut fishing village becomes a front for the US Army in 1977.
There is no rainfall from June until at least the third week of September 1987. There is a report that a Yautja lands nearby and begins hunting, prompting General Philips to call in Dutch Schaefer and his team to deal with the situation. However, this is in error - it was in Val Verde.
Mayan

Between 1540-1697, a group of Mayans fled to a cavern, gave up their cities and farms for some unknown reason, and built the temple in the cave. It is believed they were hiding from something, yet the whole tribe vanished in less than a year later.

Teotihuacan is a vast Mexican archaeological complex northeast of Mexico City. Running down the middle of the site, which was once a flourishing pre-Columbian city, is the Avenue of the Dead. It links the Temple of Quetzalcoatl, the Pyramid of the Moon and the Pyramid of the Sun, the latter two with panoramic views from their summits. Artifacts in the Museum of Teotihuacan Culture, on-site, include pottery and bones.
- In 2003, Professor Sebastian De Rosa and his assistant Thomas Parks began an archaeological excavation around the Temple of the Sun in the city, seeking to prove Sebastian's theories on a common link between all the major ancient civilizations. [These theories are later echoed by Elizabeth Shaw in 2093.] It is cut short when De Rosa was recruited by Max Stafford for a Weyland Industries expedition to Bouvetøya.
Mexico: Undisclosed Locations

Moloch Island Prison

Moloch Island is a giant prison in orbit around Earth c2179. Similar to Fiorini 161, it also housed a large foundry at the center of the space station that processes ore mined in space. The giant steel ingots it forms are fired towards Earth, where they splash down in the South China Sea to be collected by ships.
The warden is female. The diagnostic physiologist is Packard.
The space station is Iron black, spired, cathedralesque, and looms in geosynchronous orbit 23,000 miles above Earth.
The station cellblocks are essentially unpoliced and run by the prisoners. There is regular guards (like Daggs) and the Special Service guards (a ragged but tough crew of men and women who will do just about anything for time-and-a-half)
The starion has no hospital. Packard calls the infirmary a repair shop - they replace valves, patch leaks, check the levels and get patients back on-line. If they're dead, they get shipped downworld somewhere. This is why any operation is carried out by robotic arms controlled by a surgeon on Earth. - one surgeon being Dr Gibson. These surgeons work on a pay-by-service.
The station has a Hydroponics and a an on-site pharmaceutical lab.
The Foundry contains blasting furnaces. This is the central spire, where space-mined ore is processed into steel. The noise is like a hundred train wrecks. Prisoners are everywhere, stoking furnaces, lifting rock, oiling conveyors, channeling rivers of glowing metal. Two prisoners working here are Grimesand Styles, raking limestone over screens, sifting out impurities. .
The P-4 Labs on Level 10 was secretly growing kiande amedha. At the entrance to the lab is a wall-mounted scanner. The door have the thickness of a bank vault. Reed and his assistant Mohl work here. They keep the kiande amedha synthetic womb here, floating in a cradle of zero-gravity, fed by umbilicus. Translucent areas of the womb form glazed windows. The womb spasms under light. Reed is trying to slowly brighten its environment to minimize birth-trauma. Using the photoacoustic equipmen, they can see a false-colored image of the growing kiande amedha within the womb.
During lockdowns, the guards unleashed guard dogs to search for loose inmates, killing any they find.
One of the life-forms onboard are glow-worms.
In c2179, the station's hull is ruptured by gunfire from the guards when they attempt to capture escaping prisoners. The accident causing an incoming shuttle to crash into the station, decompressing the entire cell block and killing thousands of prisoners. The incident also causes two of the kiande amedha being grown in the lab to awaken and escape. The station eventually lost its air supply - killing all humans still onboard.

Pellucidar

Within the Earth's hollow center lies Pellucidar, the last bastion of primeval forest in the world. To Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle, this is sacred ground.
This is a primeval realm. A miniature sun hangs suspended within this center, shedding endless light. Pellucidar's land area is roughly in the position of the surface world's oceans, and vice versa, giving it a far greater land surface. Because of its timeless nature, and vast surface, myriad creatures from all the ages of the Earth's prehistory swarm throughout this land. Many sentient races have evolved within Pellucidar, possibly because of the absence of the waves of mass extinction that have elapsed on the surface of the earth.

The Isle of Skye (Scottish Gaelic: An t-Eilean Sgitheanach or Eilean a' Che) is the largest and northernmost island in Scotland's Inner Hebrides. Peninsulas spread out from the island's hilly centre, which is dominated by the Cuillin hills. Although it has been speculated that the first of these Gaelic names refers to a "winged" shape, the roots of the name are unknown.
In 2089, an expedition led by archaeologists Elizabeth Shaw and Charlie Holloway discovered a star map among various unrelated ancient societies in a cave they unearthed on the Isle of Skye during their voyage. They take this to be a message from humanity's forefathers, or "Engineers." Shaw told Peter Weyland, the elderly CEO of Weyland Corporation, about her finding in order to pitch a proposal to raise enough money for an expedition to follow the star chart. Weyland accepts the plan and sponsors the construction of the Prometheus, a scientific vessel that will follow the map to the faraway moon LV-223.

The Trans-Siberian Railway passes Baikal on its route between Moscow and the Sea of Japan.

The Yamal Peninsula is located in the Yamal-Nenets autonomous district of northwest Siberia, Russia. It extends roughly 700 km and is bordered principally by the Kara Sea, Baydaratskaya Bay on the west, and by the Gulf of Ob on the east. In the language of its indigenous inhabitants, the Nenets, "Yamal" means "End of the Land".

The majority of the forest is contained within Brazil, with other parts in Peru, Columbia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. The Amazon represents over half of Earth's remaining rainforests, and comprises the largest and most biodiverse tract of tropical rainforest in the world.
The Amazon Preserve is a section of the Amazon rain forest that has been separated from the rest of the rainforest by high containment fields in order to preserve a component of the ecology. The area is around 20 square kilometres. Patrick Massey took a vacation in the Amazon Preserve in the late 22nd century, during which he implanted a small C9 charge initially put inside him into a Bionational agent pursuing him.
South America- Andes

The Andes, running along South American's western side, is among Earth's longest mountain ranges. It extends over 7 countries, and is the highest mountain range outside of Asia. Its varied terrain encompasses glaciers, volcanoes, grassland, desert, lakes and forests.
Somewhere in the Andes, during the ice age c 11,993 BC, a Yautja ship landed on Earth and could not leave because it could not escape its gravitational pull. The Yautja landed in a then-dormant volcano.
South America- Ecuador

In the Andean foothills at an elevation of 2,850m, Quito, the capital, is known for its largely intact Spanish colonial center, with decorated 16th- and 17th-century palaces and religious sites, like the ornate Compañía de Jesús Church.
Llanganates National Park is a protected area in Ecuador situated in the Cotopaxi Province, Napo Province, Pastaza Province and Tungurahua Province. Located within the park is Cerro Hermoso which means "beautiful mountain" in Spanish.
Between 1939-1945, a Nazi commadant and his team visit here looking for the fabled ransom of Emperor Atahualpa.

Madrid was the location of one of the first kiande amedha nests eradicated by Orona's teams during the beginning of the Earth War in 2192.

In addition, it is the 3rd least populous and the most sparsely populated of the 50 United States. Approximately half of Alaska's residents live within the Anchorage metropolitan area. Alaska's economy is dominated by the fishing, natural gas, and oil industries, resources which it has in abundance. Military bases and tourism are also a significant part of the economy.
The United States purchased Alaska from the Russian Empire on March 30, 1867 and admitted as the 49th state of the U.S. on January 3, 1959. The name "Alaska" was introduced in the Russian colonial period when it was used to refer to the peninsula. It was derived from an Aleut, or Unangam idiom, which figuratively refers to the mainland of Alaska. Literally, it means object to which the action of the sea is directed.

The Yautja remains there, hunting other killers. The inmates kill the Yautja, and a covert team almost get the body but other Yautja reach it first.

In the 2190s, Amy, a young girl, was one of the countless individuals fighting for survival on kiande amedha-infested Earth. Over the few months following their fourth broadcast, Amy and her father had made their way to a microchip factory in an industrial town in North California, struggling with an even higher Breeders activity and a mysterious increase in temperature, while the kiande amedha themselves had amassed into large groups and kept to themselves.
As soon as Billie arrived, Billie only encountered Amy's father. Breeders had attacked the group and taken Amy to the underground tunnels beneath the Endotech Micro microchip factory nearby. Together, they explored the tunnels, but all they found were remnants of an kiande amedha nest and a cocooned lunatic, who informed her that the Breeders had taken Amy and flown to Orona's compound.

Everglades National Park is a 1.5-million-acre wetlands preserve on the southern tip of the U.S. state of Florida. Often compared to a grassy, slow-moving river, the Everglades is made up of coastal mangroves, sawgrass marshes and pine flatwoods that are home to hundreds of animal species. Among the Everglades' abundant wildlife are the endangered leatherback turtle, Florida panther and West Indian manatee.
Florida Bay is the bay located between the southern end of the Florida mainland (the Florida Everglades) and the Florida Keys in the United States. Its area is variously stated to be 800 square miles (2,100 km2), or 850 square miles (2,200 km2), or 1,000 square miles (2,600 km2). Nearly all of Florida Bay is included in Everglades National Park.
Inmate XU669042 escaped from Big Cypress Penitentiary in 1926. He was pursued some guards (one being Sherman), the sheriff, and a dog handler with bloodhounds (Buddy and Chuck). However, a Yautja was hunting there, and all but the sheriff had ensnared himself. The Yautja spares the human: "Ain't much sport in it."

Its islands are renowned for their rugged landscapes of cliffs, waterfalls, tropical foliage and beaches with gold, red, black and even green sands. Of the 6 main islands, Oahu has Hawaii’s biggest city and capital, Honolulu, home to crescent Waikiki Beach and Pearl Harbor's WWII memorials.
The largest island, the Island of Hawai'i or “Big Island”, was the site of the crash of partial construction ship wreckage that had got caught up in Earth's atmosphere. The accident and the subsequent radioactive contamination killed 100.000 people and destroyed the local Kona plantations, rendering the coffee a rare commodity. To prevent further crashes, the Coast Guard was assigned the task of monitoring and, if necessary, destroying ship wreckages in Earth's orbit.

Thompson Valley, a valley in Nebraska, was owned by the Thompson family and the site of Thompson Valley farms, an agricultural enterprise maintained by the Thompson family since around the turn of the 21st century, and Hank Thompson was set to inherit the agricultural enterprise. The farmland in Thompson Valley were largely destroyed by a wildfire in the 2170s.

Cibola County was created in 1981 out of the huge western most part of what was then Valencia County. Cibola County Land area is approximately 4,542 square miles. Cibola county borders McKinley County to the north, Bernalillo County to the east, Catron County to the south, and Apache County, Arizona to the west.
In 1919, a Yautja ship lands in Two Witch Mesa. Enoch Nakai's great grandfather, the Navajo men of his community, and the local sheriff with his men, fight off the Yautja. Afterward, a man from the Indian Agency arrives and questions Nakai's great-grandfather. Nothing further is heard of it. One of the victim's wives gives Old Nakai a prong from a Yautja weapon. This weapon will be passed on to Enoch in 1988.
In 1988, a Yautja hunts at the nearby US Army base where Enoch Nakai is located. Though the base is destroyed after the US Army captures the Yautja's ship, Enoch still manages to kill the Yautja.

Nayenengani is the monster slayer, one of the hero twins. He plays a very important part in the night way. Without him, we cannot dispel the adilgashii, or the evil it brings. It takes many days of chants to banish the witch. The people must have help of the yataali (medicine man) in this difficult task, just as the yataali needs the help of Nayenengani, or he will not succeed. Their struggle helped form El Malpais.

Neonopolis - City of Light.
In 1930, in New Way City, a Yautja "New Way Devil" stalks and kills mob boss Bruno Borgia and members of his gang who are at war with the Irish Mob. Bruno's wife, Isabella, shoots New Way Devil in the eye, causing his blood to splatter on her and her baby son Hunter Borgia. New Way Devil escapes, leaving behind some of his equipment. As he attempts to reach his ship, the roof he is running across collapses - leaving him incapacitated. New Way Devil then sets off his ship's self-destruct sequence but this fails to kill him as he is outside the range of the explosion. Shamed by defeat and having exposed his race to the pyode amedha (humans), New Way Devil is exiled by his clan to a planet inhabited by deadly alien creatures.
One hundred years later, New Way Devil now called Scarface, is offered a chance for redemption by returning to the city, now called Neonopolis, to retrieve the technology and discover the fate of the previous Yautja dispatched there.

Its iconic sites include skyscrapers such as the Empire State Building and sprawling Central Park. Broadway theater is staged in neon-lit Times Square.
The World Trade Center is a complex of seven buildings in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan, New York City. It opened on April 4, 1973, the complex was the site of several tragic events. On September 11, 2001, terrorists crashed two planes into the World Trade Center.

In 1954, Charles Bishop Weyland is born in New York, New York, USA.
A group of Yautja hunt in NYC 1989, but Rasche and Schaefer put an end to it.
In 2124, another disaster destroyed the World Trade Center. The fact that many people died because there were no means to extract them prompted the development of the Jet Rescue technology to enable high-altitude evacuations.

Samuel Elias Brett is born here on July 13, 2069. He later works here as mechanic for E-Z-FLY Spacecraft Repair, a family business, from June 21 2085 to May 10 2094. Brett then attends Houston School of Astrophysics and Interstellar Engineering on September 15 2097, and graduates October 21 2101.
By 2192, Bionational had a Houston facility.

The Battle of Chancellorsville was a major battle of the American Civil War (1861–1865), and the principal engagement of the Chancellorsville Campaign. It was fought from April 30 to May 6, 1863, in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, near the village of Chancellorsville.
On May 2, 1863, Stonewall Jackson joins a group of five elite militiamen (all of them former criminals) to scout the Union camp. Very quickly, the Yautja kills everyone but Jackson and Union Captain Jason Ames. After the Yautja is killed, the two part ways.

Da Nang is a coastal city in central Vietnam known for its sandy beaches and history as a French colonial port. It's a popular base for visiting the inland Ba Na hills, located to the west of the city. Here the Hai Vân Pass has views of Da Nang Bay and the Marble Mountains, 5 limestone outcrops that are home to pagodas and caves containing Buddhist shrines.
- Al Dillon served with Dutch Schaefer in Da Nang and Cambodia during and after the Vietnam War, notably taking part in the Battle of Hue (January 30, 1968 – March 3, 1968). Both men were decorated for their service there. They later served together again in Thailand, and while in the country the two men obtained lighters of some personal significance.

- Dutch Schaefer and Al Dillon fought in the Vietnam War. Dillon still uses his Vietnam-era equipment, battle dress uniform and Colt M1911 sidearm from this time.
- Ronald Noland was serving in Vietnam when he was abducted by the Super Yautja.
- Peter Keyes mentions that mankind has previously encountered one or more Yautja in Cambodia during the war.
