These are the natives of Arcturus. They are mammal-like creatures that are about the same size as Humans. Their society is like that of ants; they live in underground Hives, have a single large queen which lays eggs, and raises their young in communal nursing chambers. they are semi-intelligent, with mental abilities similar to those of lower apes.

This combination of animal and insect traits make the Arcturians a strange race. They are warm-blooded omnivores, breathe an oxygen atmosphere, and are roughly humanoid., but they are also eyeless and they communicate and find their way using sonar. Their young are amphibious and are raised in warm ppls in nursing chambers near the bottom of the Hive. The limited intelligence of the Arcturians allows them to work together on important tasks, learn from experience, and teach each other. They have a rudimentary langage and use simple tools, including sharpened pieces of stone for weapons.

Arcturians pose little threat to armed USCM, but an unwary group entering Arcturian tunnels could be in trouble. They have been known to lay traps for Humans, and have even collapsed shafts to isolate intruders. The Arcturians have also learned to wait until a group’s lights have failed before attacking, to maximize their advantages.

Arcturians are kept away from Human settlements by sonic barriers. To drive them out of their warrens is more difficult, as the queen is immobile and the Arcturians will defend nursing chambers to the death.

Babe was one of the oxen used for menial labor at Fiorina 161.

When Ellen Ripley crash-landed on Fiorina 161, Babe and the colony's other oxen were used to recover the EEV from the shore. At some point, unseen by the prisoners assisting in the process, Babe was attacked and impregnated by the Royal Facehugger that had stowed away on board the EEV.

Babe later died of seemingly natural causes and was taken to the prison's abattoir by Frank and Murphy, to be cut up and used as food for the inmates. However, while the prisoners were attending a funeral service for the deceased Newt and Turk, the Dragon that had been gestating inside Babe emerged and escaped into the prison's ventilation shafts.

Note: There are two conflicting reports regarding the origin of Dragon. The primary belief is that this Dragon was born from a dog, named Spike. The conflicting report has the Dragon being born out of Babe. It is the dog-birthed Dragon that is more widely accepted. Due to DNA Reflex, a Drone from an ox, a larger animal with more mass, would be significantly larger than a human Drone and, potentially, would more closely resemble a Bull Kiande Amedha.

Discovered on Saint John, Blackbody Coral is a Hive-type microorganism that is similar to coral on Earth. It grows on surfaces that are exposed to light, and its cells are essentially light traps; virtually all of the solar energy that hits the coral is absorbed into the cells, which are also well insulated. The energy is used to feed the growth of the Blackbody Hive.

Blackbody coral is widely used in construction on Colony worlds with harsh environments, because of its excellent insulation and energy absorption properties.

Bloodburster

Bloodburster
  • Alien: Covenant. 20th Century Fox, 2017.

The Bloodburster is the infant form of the Neomorph, the result of the local ecosystem on the planet David8 travelled after leaving LV-233 becoming altered by Chemical AO-3959X.91. The liquid caused small, black, spherical, fungus-like egg-sacks to form on the ground. When disturbed, these sacks would release a cloud of microscopic spores into the air that would then enter a host organism through any open orifice - like the nostrils or ear canals on a human.

Once inside, the spores would enter the bloodstream and inject eggs, instigating the growth of of an amnionic sac within which the larval Bloodbursters rapidly gestates in a matter of hours. The host's health rapidly deteriates during gestation, until the Bloodburster violently punctures the skin and claws its way out of the host's body. The exact point of emergence varies depending on how the host was infected. This process its notably similar to the Chestburster.

The crew member Ledward was infected through the ear, and the Bloodburster erupted through Ledward's back. For this, the creature had developed a pair of dorsal spikes to facilitate its emergence. Another crew member named Hallett was infected through the nose, which caused the creature to emerge through the victim's mouth.

Initially, the creature is born almost fully formed with arms and legs and moves in a quadrupedal manner, like that of a Runner or Deacon. It has a transucent body, with being able to pass through its arms.

They grow rapidly and reach maturity in a matter of hours into a Neomorph, adopting a bipedal stance.

Jones, nicknamed "Jonesy", is a large ginger American Shorthair, a breed of domestic cat believed to be descended from European cats brought to North America by early settlers to protect valuable cargo from mice and rats.

Jones, of uncertain parentage and independent mien, is the ship's cat aboard the Nostromo whose official job was rodent extermination. He also provided leisure and entertainment to the crew.

He was long accustomed to the vagaries of ship travel and the idiosyncrasies of humans who traveled through space. Jonesy shared a hypersleep capsule with one of the crew members during the Nostromo's extended voyages due to his small size and heft, and dreamt simple dreams of warm, dark places and gravity-bound mice.

After the birth and escape of the kiande amedha, Jones got scared away during the crew's attempt to locate the kiande amedha aboard the Nostromo with a makeshift motion tracker. Jonesy shows up on Ash's motion tracker and was mistaken for the kiande amedha. Brett was dispatched by Ripley and Parker to apprehend Jones. When Brett eventually caught up with Jones in a cargo area, he tried to entice the cat out so the motion tracker wouldn't go off again. Jones hissed when he recognised the weird silhouette behind Brett. By the time Brett looked back, the creature had attacked him and was carrying him up into the air ducts, with Jones watching.

When the remaining crew members prepare to escape the ship, Ripley collects Jones in a pet carrier. When Ripley left, the kiande amedha approached him, but he ignored him because Jones was evidently of little interest to the creature, and he escaped the experience unharmed.

Ripley retrieves Jones and flees with him aboard a shuttle. Jones entered hypersleep with Ripley and spent the following 57 years in hibernation, drifting through the core system aboard the Narcissus. The shuttle was eventually retrieved by a deep space salvage crew. The salvage crew initially mistook the strange readings from the cryotube for those of an alien life form, but a closer look revealed that they were merely interpreting the human and feline DNA sets as one creature. Jones and Ripley and Jones were brought to Gateway Station orbiting Earth. Carter Burke joined them in the hospital after their recovery. Jones then went to Ripley's new flat to be with her.

Jonesy's fate is unknown following Ripley's assignment to the USS Sulaco and subsequent death on the Fiorina 161.

Deacon

References
Deacon
  • Prometheus. 20th Century Fox. 2012. Movie.

In 2093, Elizabeth Shaw had sexual intercourse with Charlie Holloway (David8 secretly infected him with the Black Goo). Elizabeth Shaw conceived a trilobite. When the Engineer awakened by Weyland on LV-223 stalked after Dr. Elizabeth Shaw inside the marooned lifeboat, it was subdued and impregnated by Shaw's Trilobite offspring, much akin to the Facehugger. When it is fully matured, the "Deacon" uses its carapace to cut itself free from its host's torso. Like the Runner kiande amedha, it erupts more or less fully-developed.

Thus, the Deacon shares several biological traits with the Engineer and Elizabeth Shaw. The breed borrows physical traits from the various stages of the life cycle, such as the femininity from Shaw. The Deacon also shares many anatomical characteristics with a human-bred adult kiande amedha. It sports a slender, roughly humanoid appearance and also has the elongated head of the kiande amedha, though the Deacon's skull ends in a pointed fin-like carapace. Another common feature is an inner jaw, which the Deacon is able to protrude, similar to the second set of jaws of the kiande amedha. Unlike the kiande amedha however, this creature lacks a tail and has a smooth-skinned body instead of an exoskeleton.

It is also unknown whether the Deacon is the final, fully-grown incarnation of the life form (like the Runner kiande amedha) or merely an intermediate step like the Chestburster stage.

mural The Deacon bears a resemblance to the Mural located in the chamber with a Humanoid head structure in the center, housing ampules containing Black Goo designed to target human DNA.

The Dominators, collectively known as the Dominion, are an alien race from the outer cosmos of the universe. They are highly technologically advanced, and live in a rigid hierarchical society, in which one's caste is determined by the size of a red circle on one's forehead. They are master geneticists who can manipulate the meta-gene to enhance members of their own caste.

The Dominion have noticed the large number of super-powered beings who originate from Earth, and fear that one day the galaxy will be overrun by Earthmen. The Dominators had a theory that some humans contain a recessive genetic trait that will manifest a 'super power' when their life is endangered. The dormant gene is dubbed the 'Metagene', and all humans who derive their power from it are labeled 'Meta Humans'.

In 2000, the JLA encounters the Yautja, alongside the JLA. These Yautja were DNA-enhanced by the Dominators to match their prey. Once subdued, the Yautja blew open a hole in the JLA Watchtower (located on the moon) and allowed themselves to be sucked out into space rather than be captured.

Giff

References
Steel Egg
  • Aliens: Steel Egg. John Shirley, DH Press, Sept 26, 2007. Print.

The Giff was so-named by the crew of Hornblower, because in one recording the species repeats the word giff several times, exobiologist Eli Reynolds names the species after himself: Eloid. Giffs form a meaningful species until they are destroyed. Although they eat, drink and defecate in the same way as humans , they see differently, sleep while standing, and also use robots . The speech of the giffs is so high that one cannot hear it unless it is amplified by the holrojector, but with the help of a diamond-shaped translator (which is worn around the neck) they are able to communicate with other species as well. Their writing is oval drawings with wavy lines that sometimes resemble lines, sometimes shorthand.

Their legs look rubbery, their tanned skin is pink, their shoulders grow out of fur. Their bodies are barrel-like when they take a breath, it seems as if they are taking their breath through their pores. Their heads are cylindrical, their senses are diamond-like, the corners of their eyes touch each other, and they surround the head like a chain of vision (silver-like eyes can move on the head, they can even go to the back of their head). The nose is not visible, but the mouth is a predictable toothless opening lined with organs for pink sound formation and perhaps taste. The arms resemble the legs, although they are shorter and thinner. The boneless but strong limbs end in 6-6 tentacles that do not have suction cups. They also have female and male sexes, although they have no visible genitals.

Giffs like spacious spaces, their more important technology is based on crystals. They provide some of their rooms with doors that, if not open, the material of the complex closes them as if there is nothing there (for people, because giffs see certain signs that are meant to indicate that there is a door there). When opened, the bio-alloy retracts into the walls as if it were some kind of liquid. They are opened / closed with a “sound key” (a small palm-sized structure that opens the doors with sound). They come into contact with humanity before 1000 (even in the centuries BC because they have a Phoenician corpse), take the dead away from the battlefields, and sometimes talk to some people and even talk to dolphins. Giffs have been a defensive species for a very long time, they have strong defense systems, but if the enemy penetrates it,

Around 1000, the extinction of the species occurs, the astronauts come to negotiate peace on the Unbreakable Womb , actually bringing eggs with them. Only one person from the entire ship's crew can get to the abandoned observation station on Iapetus . The space jockey race then uses the aliens to completely exterminate the giffs. In 2058, the last giff, Larry(his real name corresponds to this among humans) is also destroyed, sacrificing himself to direct the Unbreakable Womb into the Sun so that the ship does not fall into human hands or the xen on it cause more deaths (and the station on Iapetus even earlier). destroyed). Very few people know about giffs, Captain Daryl Corgan and science officer Ashley Norton, who survive the incident. The recordings they make are very rich research material, the case is encrypted by the ENBT .

Hammerpede

References
hammerpede
  • Prometheus. 20th Century Fox, June 8, 2012. Movie.

The hammerpede began as a very small worm with a length of only a few centimeters.

The Hammerpedes were pale in appearance and possessed serpent-like bodies up to 4 feet long after being altered by the Black Goo. The head piece has an opening covered by two skin lobes that may be retracted to reveal the orifice, giving it a cobra snake-like look. They had amazing strength and could easily break bones, as Fifield learned when attempting to remove one from Milburn's forearm. They also have acidic blood (an interesting similarity to the kiande amedha) and the capacity to regenerate cut parts in a matter of seconds, as demonstrated by Fifield's attempt to decapitate one, for its head regenerated in a matter of seconds.

The Hammerpede, like all Black Goo mutants, is extremely hostile.

At least one of the Pyramid weapon depots built by the Engineer race on LV-223 housed a population of the worms inside one of the storage chambers for the Black Goo.

The Prometheus landed on LV-223 in 2093 and discovered an Engineer temple, which they investigated. They discovered a vast room with a massive stone head inside, as well as urns strewn about. When the crew entered the area, the urns began to seep black sludge, so they exited quietly so as not to disturb the situation. Unbeknownst to the crew, who had proceeded to other parts of the facility, the dark liquid infected at least two of the worms and transformed them into the Hammerpede form.

Millburn and Fifield, two members of the team, became disoriented and eventually found their way to the urn chamber, where they discovered that the urns had released significantly more black sludge. They came across two Hammerpedes. One of them rose, startling Fifield, but Millburn was enthralled by it. The beast sprang at him, squeezing his arm. Fifield attempted to assist Millburn but ended up fracturing his arm. Fifield then slashes the Hammerpede's head off, revealing its acidic blood, which splatters on him. The Hammerpede then sprouted a new head, demonstrating its ability to regenerate.

It then enters Millburn's suit through a hole created when his arm shattered, and then into his mouth, killing him slowly. Fifield's helmet was dissolved by its acid blood, and he fell into the ooze, which would later change him into a monstrous mutant. When the remainder of the crew arrived to help the two survivors, they spotted the Hammerpede escaping from a dead Millburn. It's unclear what happened to the two Hammerpedes after they vanished into the depths of the installation.

Harvesters

References
RPGBook
  • Aliens: Adventure Game David McKenzie and Toni Dennis. "Section 3.15." Leading Edge Games. p78, 80-81. Print.

Harvesters are immense armored creatures. They are heavier than any land animal on Earth; it is over nine feet high and nearly twenty feet long. They look something like huge armadillo. A Harvester has massive front claws and a powerful snout for digging and boring through rock and concrete, and their jaws can shred almost anything. It uses sonar as its main sense and has acute hearing and small but limited vision. The Harvester is very maneuverable for a creature of its size and can and can move up to 34 feet/second.

It main purpose is for burrowing and harvesting. Harvesting consists of burrowing to the surface and shredding organic plant and animal life that it processes and stores in its gut.

Harvesters operate in groups and their communication and intelligence can be compared to that of a wolf pack. They move in packs of several dozen, and these packs often fight each other for control of fertile areas. A pack will coordinate its activities, and organizes for war in the same way that ants do.

A Harvester’s attack consists of the creature charging and overrunning or ramming its target. When Harvesters fight each other, it is a push and shove match until one is turned over, exposing its softer underbelly. This leaves it vulnerable to the shredding jaws of the victor.

As a continent enters its night, Harvesters burrow up from tunnels far below the surface to devour all organic materials. This material is shredded and carried back underground, to cysts where the Harvesters live. The Harvesters live off the organics for years, and slowly generate the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, which in turn regenerates the surface life when daylight returns. It is a strange ecological cycle, but one which remains in balance. Unfortunately, the Harvesters do not differentiate between their natural food and the Colonists who now live on Tartarus.

Their attack is almost impossible to stop because they bore through the earth and attack from directly beneath the facilities. No underground protection has been found that will stop the Harvesters, although many attempts have been made. Decoying the Harvesters to the surface outside the Colony where they can be attacked by Aircraft has been used with success, but the Harvesters are cunning and these tricks are no longer effective. The primary focus at the remaining facilities is to destroy the Harvesters in their underground chambers. For this work, the USCM have been called in.

The Harvesters have a smaller form, which never leaves the cyst, a boar-size creature called a Drone. It is used to defend the cyst from underground pests, ranging in size from small insects up to nearly Human size. The Drone has only one purpose, and that is to bite as the Drone is little more than a large pair of powerful jaws, and it is not even a self-supporting life form. It lives attached to what is called a Carrier and has few internal organs of its own. When they leave their Carrier to fight, they have only a few hours of life left. The Drone can climb and jump, as well as move up to 42 feet / per second. They attack the invading creatures by biting with their immense jaws, which lock in place. The jaws actually ratchet down and cannot be opened short of breaking the thick skull and mandibles. Like a bee, they give their lives defending their lair.

The six Green Lanterns are informed of the disappearance of Char, and proceed to the border world where he is believed to have disappeared. Tracing the signal from Char's displaced power ring, they enter a cavern inside a mountainous butte, where they discover Char's corpse, before being attacked by a swarm of kiande amedha. A generation ago (sometime between 2032 and 2040), humans thought Mars was a lifeless planet. So, they dropped a few nukes on it in preparation for terraforming. However, once the process warmed up the planet, a whole lot of bugs came worming up from their subterranean lair. With the breathable air about 70%, it fueled their reproductive cycle, and they bred at an alarming rate.

The creatures were discovered on Saint John. They weigh five to ten pounds and have a unique shape-changing ability. They are able to adopt any of several forms, including a water-breather like a fish, an amphibian form, and a land-dwelling air-breather. Morphers do not simply change shape at will; they enter a state of dormancy in response to seasonal and climatic change, and emerge from that state days or weeks later in a form which is more appropriate to the current environment. This change occurs through the action of a special part of the Morpher’s DNA code, ad is like the way a tadpole becomes a frog, except that a Morpher changes among several different forms on a cyclic basis.

The study of Morphers has been vital to the science of genetic engineering, and Morpher DNA is still being heavily researched for future uses.

Neomorph

References
Neomorph
  • Alien: Covenant. 20th Century Fox, 2017.

The Neomorphs were one of the hybridized parasitic organisms to arise from Chemical AO-3959X.91 contanimating the planet's ecosystem. David8's labroratory in the lower levels of the Engineer temple contains several immature and embryonic Neomorphs. He used these to conduct biogenetic experiments on and used them as the base to create the perfect organism.

Vicious endoparasitic predators, the Neomorphs shares some characteristics with the kiande amedha. Both species gestate within a live host organism, and both have an elongated head and have no eyes.

Neomorphs are more feral and animal-like than kiande amedha. Even newly emerged Bloodbursters are highly aggressive and attack anyone in sight.

Unlike the kiande amedha, Neomorphs are more organic in appearance and lack biomechanical aspects. They have pale, white-grey skin with a somewhat translucent appearance. It has a fleshy tail tipped with spikes, which can be used as a devestating, slashing and battering weapon, and a large number of silvery fangs in its mouth, which appears circular when closed. Though they lack the kiande amedha's inner jaw , they instead have detachable mouths like a Goblin Shark.

Their blood is thick and yellow, but not acidic.

Their bodies are more resiliant than kiande amedha. One Neomorph withstood numerous bullet wounds when ambushing the Covenant crew. Individual neomorphs display physical variances. One neomorph featured a pair of sharp, bony dorsal spikes on its back that assisted it in breaking out of its host. The other neomorph encountered lacked these spikes.

Two members of the Covenant's security detail, Ledward and Hallett, were infected by the spores. Ledward was infected through his ear, Hallett through his nose. Both died when the Bloodburster emerged from them. Ledward's bloodburster emerged from his back, then attacked and partially devoured Karine before attacking Faris, escaping when Faris accidentally destroyed the dropship in an attempt to kill it. Hallett's bloodburster erupted from his head.

Soon after, while attacking the surviving Covenant crew in a wheat field on the planet's surface, one of the neomorphs was shot dead. The second neomorph survived to maturity, infiltrating David8's temple and killing Rosenthal by tearing off her head with its jaws. While feeding on her corpse, David8 attempted to communicate with it in hopes to tame it. Oram arrived moments later and shot it dead.

Rhynth look like rhinos, slightly bigger with mottled purple and ocher skin. They walked on stumpy, oddly jointed legs that ended in nailed pads. They have hooked, beak like mouths above which was a pair of in-line horns. The greater horn is a wrist-thick and sharp cone that jutted straight up in front. The lesser horn was smaller and angled slightly backward.

Humans have used the Rhynth as transports as well as raising them to be sold to Earth as a meat source. In 2224, humans used Prosperity Wells on Ryushi as a rhynth-farming colony.

Spike was a Rottweiler who resided in the correctional unit on Fiorina 161 and was the canine companion of inmate Thomas Murphy.

After the EEV that brought Ellen Ripley to Fiorina 161 is recovered, Spike barked at a Royal Facehugger hiding in the wreckage, but is attacked and subdued. Murphy later found Spike in his room with his face lacerated from his struggle with the Royal Facehugger, mistakenly assuming one of the other inmates had attacked him out of cruelty. While the prisoners were attending a funeral service for the deceased Newt and Turk, the Dragon that had been gestating inside Spike violently emerged, killing the dog before it escaped into the prison's ventilation shafts.

Note: There are two conflicting reports regarding the origin of Dragon. The primary belief is that this Runner was born from Spike. The conflicting report has the Dragon being born out of an ox, named Babe. It is the dog-birthed Dragon that is more widely accepted. Due to DNA Reflex, a Drone from an ox, a larger animal with more mass, would be significantly larger than a human Drone and, potentially, would more closely resemble a Bull Kiande Amedha.

He came to earth in a rocket, a strange visitor from another planet. Now, in 1995, signals from space could be the beginning of a trail to his home planet Krypton. In the far corners of space, Earth's yellow sun is a distant memory to Superman. Without its nurturing glow, his powers are fading fast. Will they hold out long enough for him to save the domed city of Argo from an infestation of kiande amedhas, or is The Man of Steel doomed to die amongst what may be the ruins of his long-lost Krypton? The real threat isn't the Queen that's stalking Superman; it's the Chestburster planted inside him! Can he beat the bug inside his chest, or is he doomed to die on a distant planet?

In 1987, Superman goes to the aid of STAR Lab explorers in South America when they discover the ship left by the Yautja that fought Dutch SchaeferSchaeffer. However, he contracts a virus which fluctuates his powers from low-lovel to near non-existent. He is captured by Ward, but escapes. s and manages to stop Ward's plan to send an isotope into the air which will then fall to the ground as rain, killing anyone with genetic deformities. He also attacks the Yautja, but the Yautja finds Superman an honorable opponent and gives Superman a cure for the virus.

In November 2000, Superman and the JLA fight MetaYautja: Yautja cloned by the Dominators to have the same powers as the JLA. Once subdued, the Yautja blew open a hole in the JLA Watchtower (located on the moon) and allowed themselves to be sucked out into space rather than be captured.

holloway shaw

A squid-like creature originating from Holloway's sperm infected by the Black Goo. This sperm is then transmitted by sexual intercourse, the infant form of the Trilobite is conceived within Dr. Shaw and begins gestation inside her womb, similar to a normal conception and pregnancy. The organism is extremely adaptable to the human organism, being able to prompt it to nourish the Trilobite via an umbilical cord, and can thrive even in a sterile host. After impregnation, the creature grows rapidly, reaching its full length in a time span of roughly ten hours. How it is "birthed" naturally was never discovered as the creature was removed prematurely by Dr. Shaw.

In a striking similarity to the Facehugger, the primary purpose of the Trilobite is to impregnate a suitable host with the Deacon embryo it carries. As its Facehugger counterpart, the Trilobite dies after impregnation.

In its infant stage, it is roughly half a meter long and resembles very much a squid with a pale white pigmentation, sporting four tentacles ending in an elongated head section.

The adult form of the Trilobite creature is much larger, between five and seven meters in length. In this incarnation, the creature has seven tentacles, with three on each side and a central tentacle at the front. A mouth-like orifice surrounded by sharp teeth is located on the ventral side of the creature, hiding the long retractable tube it uses for oral impregnation. An additional set of six smaller tentacles is situated around the impregnation orifice, used to fixate the head of a potential host.

The adult form is strong, relentless and aggressive and was able to subdue an Engineer on LV-223 in 2093.

Every aspiring Spear Master, as their Rite of Passage, must kill a Vy'drach with only a spear. It the Yautja kills the Vy'drach, its hide is fashioned into armor its nemesis wears for life. Like the Vydrach itself, this armor is uniquely resilient to fire, energy, and radiation.

A special armor-working process applied to the conductive vessels in Vy'drach scales enables the Spear Master to recharge its energy supply when struck by fire or energy-based attacks.

Lava clan warriors carry specialized weaponry specific for hunting the Vy'drach.
