Common Chestburster

The Chestburster is a juvenile version of the adult Kiande Amedha. It has a variety of qualities that distinguish it from adult versions, most notably the capacity to shed its skin on a regular basis as it develops and the astonishing pace at which it can ingest and assimilate food.

The Chestburster weighed a little over a pound and stood approximately a foot tall by the conclusion of incubation; it has an adult's skull and upper arms but retains the Facehugger's long, muscular tail. It has a tiny skull, brown skin, and is vulnerable to fire at this stage.

When a Facehugger deposits an embryo in the pharynx, a chestburster begins to form in its host. It is unknown how the Facehugger develops the embryo. One idea focuses on the juvenile heartworm (Dirofilaria immitis), which migrates through the body, gathering nutrition before settling in.

Another idea holds that the Facehugger implants a tumour rather than an embryo into the host. According to this idea, the Facehugger injects a tiny Ovomorph into the host, which inserts its proteins into the host's DNA and instructs its cells to "produce" the chestburster, which contains both the Kiande Amedha and the host's proteins.

Nonetheless, as the embryo matures, it infiltrates the host's internal organs and produces enzymes that weaken the bone and surrounding tissues, making extraction extremely difficult.

When fully matured, the embryo will push its way through the host's rib cage using its tail, teeth, and acid secretions. Then it pushes its way out of its host's insides, killing the host. The Chestburster will then flee its host in search of a safe hiding spot while moulting into a fully-grown adult.

The characteristics of the chestburster are dictated by the characteristics of the host. Chestbursters differ from one another in the following ways:

Tarkatan chestbursters include the following:

The Chestburster's growth rate is astounding, with only food supplies limiting it. With enough nourishment, the Chestburster will normally reach full size within a day after "hatching." It will perish if it does not locate enough food to mature within three days; the creature's metabolism is simply too quick to allow it to survive for long. Because it is not completely capable of battle, the Chestburster will keep a low profile throughout its growing stage.

When the Chestburster reaches full size, its metabolism alters dramatically.

Chestbursters: Birth Syncing

Gideon Lee, a billionaire, managed to live for 700 years after discovering Yautja technology and developing it to extend his life for centuries.

Lee has two people in his research lab who are harbouring chestbursters inside of them under surveillance since he isn't sure if the extraterrestrial beings they are carrying are Yautja or not. The scientists at Lee's lab caught up on some strange readings about the alien entities just before they burst forth from their victims' chests, and noticed them moving at the same time, with one scientist describing it as "acting in clinical sympathy with one other."

The two chestbursters then exploded out of their victims seconds apart, which appeared to be on purpose. The Chestbursters were able to connect with one another in some way and coordinate their births so that they would emerge at the same time, making them far more hazardous than if they were born at different periods.

There are numerous advantages to Chestbursters synchronising their births, all of which make them substantially more lethal. Chestbursters are at their most vulnerable stage because they are not yet fully grown Kiande Amedha. The Chestbursters have a higher chance of surviving and even attacking any close threat by communicating with one other while still within their hosts and scheduling their births at the same moment. This gives them a better chance of maturing.

The only catch is that this ability is only functional if there are multiple impregnated hosts in a single location at the same time. Many growing Chestbursters are commonly clumped together in a Kiande Amedha colony. When Chestbursters are born outside of one, they are more likely to be born one at a time, as demonstrated in the film Alien. In a circumstance like the one in Lee's lab, Chestbursters can use a secret ability that increases their lethality.

Chestbursters: Yautja Connection

This stage is referred to as z'skvy-de by the Yautja. They deem them bothersome since it is against their rules to kill a carrier attempting to impregnate a host.

Chestburster: Removal

While the host is still alive, it is feasible to remove a chestburster before it is born. Several chestburster extractions have been successful.

Superman In Sept 1995, Superman and Supergirl were facehugged while away from a yellow Sun on a Kryptonian colony and had to yield to the impregnation due to their debilitated health. Because Superman's embryo is a Queen, kiande amedha will not endanger him. When Superman and Supergirl arrive aboard the freighter that initially carried the kiande amedha to Argo, they locate escape pods and transporter booths, but the pods' launch mechanisms are clogged, and the only way to launch them is to destroy the ship. Before returning to a transporter booth, Superman prepares the coordinates as Supergirl puts the core to overload. Superman then uses the booth to transport the embryo out of Supergirl, with Supergirl driven out of the booth by a kiande amedha attack just before the ship is destroyed and the pod released. When Superman returns to Earth's solar system, his powers are restored only in time to prevent the Chestburster from resurfacing, allowing him to "crush" it and vomit it all out of his system before catching the falling satellite. He was emotionally and physically drained as a result of his regurgitation. However, when Superman departs, he is left lamenting the loss of Supergirl, ignorant that she made it to a pod before Argo was destroyed and is now stranded in space.

Bella On the surface of LV-426 in 2180, the Bishop model accompanying the Colonial Marines warned Pvt Bella Clarison that she had been impregnated and would soon die by giving birth to a Chestburster. Clarison , though devastated by the news, continued to execute her duty and assisted in the establishment of a command post among the wreckage of Hadley's Hope. Later, back at the command post, Winter and O'Neal obtained authorization to transport Clarison to the adjacent Weyland-Yutani research station in return for obtaining a personnel manifest. When the party arrived to a medical laboratory, a staff member informed them that rescuing Clarison was impossible. The doctor disclosed that the chestburster behaves similarly to cancer, spreading the entire body and killing the victim even in the absence of birth trauma. Clarison reacted calmly to the news, but she died seconds later as the Chestburster exploded from her chest.

zulu Doctor Hollis was impregnated with a Queen embryo in 2137 after being impregnated with a Facehugger. She was such an adept surgeon, though, that she removed the chestburster herself despite being partially comatose, with the assistance of Zulu Hendricks and Davis One. The Queen and the embryonic bag were retrieved simultaneously, and the sack instantly burst. The chestburster attempted to flee, but was apprehended by Davis One and temporarily frozen.

shaw Doctor Elizabeth Shaw was infected with a trilobite, a close relative of the chestburster: Holloway mistakenly infected her with the Black Goo during sexual intercourse in 2193. Shaw awoke in the medbay hours after Holloway's death, where David8 informed her that she was pregnant with a non-human foetus. Shaw begged David8 to remove the embryo, but he refused and put her back to sleep. Some time later, Ford and another crew member arrived to place her in cryosleep, but Shaw, faking unconsciousness, managed to overcome them and raced to the Medpodi within Vickers' lifeboat, where the foetus, a baby Trilobite, was removed. She then left the monster, believing that it had been destroyed by the Medpodi's automatic system. The trilobite, on the other hand, expanded quickly and evolved into a proto-Facehugger. Shaw made her way to the lifeboat as the Engineer pursued her. When the Engineer attacked Shaw, she let out the Trilobite from the Medpodi chamber, which had evolved into a proto-Facehugger and rapidly overpowered the Engineer and began impregnating him.

church In 2195, Paul Church, his parents, and the rest of the Incunabulum's crew and passengers are assaulted by the infected Kiande Amedha on an unexplored moon. Church escaped with a sick Kiande Amedha embryo within him. The chestburster died before being delivered, and Church successfully removed it with an autodoc onboard his ship during a seven-hour operation. Church then began his recuperation.

Ripley8 Ripley8 is a human-kiande amedha hybrid cloned in 2381 from the DNA of Ellen Ripley of Fiorini 161 and the embryonic Queens onboard the research vessel USM Auriga. Ripley8 was the eighth and last entirely successful effort to clone Ellen Ripley in order to extract the Queen embryo that had been cloned with her. When the clone reached adulthood, the scientists removed the embryo within her by severing a short umbilical chord.

Chestburster: Predalien Queen

The Predalien chestburster is the outcome of a Facehugger impregnating a Yautja.

The absorption of features from the host species via the DNA reflex can result in morphological changes in the Chestburster stage, such as the Predalien Chestburster's Yautja-like mandibles.

Predaliens: Yautja Connection

The Yautja see all forms of Predaliens as abominations that pollute their precious bloodline. Yautja annihilate Predaliens on sight.

Chestburster: Bellyburster

The outcome of Gunnison Predalien mouth-to-mouth impregnation, Bellybursters are Chestbursters that sprout from the host's (apparently exclusively pregnant women's) belly and grow into the Warrior Carved version, whose ridged craniums provide them with an additional 40% bullet resistance over the regular caste.

Onboard the Innominata, a variety of 'bellybursters' were also discovered, although having nothing in common with those from a Predalien Queen.

Queen Chestburster

Instead of becoming a Drone, this Chestburster becomes a Queen. The Queen variety, unlike the standard Chestburster, has fully grown, if little, limbs. In this stage, the Queen's crest is also visible in a rudimentary form.

According to Dr. Waidslaw Orona, when the fledgling Queens emerge, there may be a contest for supremacy - their first conscious act of existence is murdering in order to create its own world. The new Queen would then lead Drone contingents out from the previous Hive.

Protomorph Chestburster

In terms of eggs, Facehuggers, and full-grown forms, protomorphs were quite similar to xenomorphs. Nonetheless, the biggest difference was the chestburster's appearance, which stood out from the rest of the pink worm-like monsters. The Protomorph chestburster had sprouted limbs and could immediately stand up. It also had a blueish skin tone and may have skipped shedding. The birth was a little slower, and the chestburster did not try to escape while David8 kept an eye on it.

Rousseau Parks

Adele Rousseau: What happened here?

Thomas Parks: It’s common in ritual sacrifice to take the heart of the victim.

Rousseau: That’s nice. But that’s not where your heart is. [pause] Besides it looks like the bones were bent straight out.

[Thomas stares at Rousseau]
