Common Drones

Kiande Amedha adults have been referred to as "drones," "warriors," "workers," and even "soldiers." Many, including Ash, see the species as the "perfect organism" because of its traits. As a result, numerous people have sought to control and use them for their own ends—usually as military weapons.

The Drone acquires some of the host's fundamental physical characteristics as a result of horizontal gene transfer throughout the gestation phase, allowing the individual Drone to adapt to the host's surroundings.

The Chestburster sheds its skin as it grows into a Drone, much like a snake. It stands around 7 feet (2 metres) tall and weighs approximately 300-400 pounds.

They are more resistant to fire.

They have a powerful, segmented tail with a barbed tip that extends to the length of the body. According to sightings, this tail occasionally has a sting that contains a non-lethal chemical that the Drone employs to immobilize potential victims. At times, the tail is tipped with a tiny fin that the Drone uses to navigate in aquatic conditions. The tail's strength is quite powerful, capable of impaling and lifting a Yautja with minimal effort.

They have a biomechanical skeletal design, (typically) black chitinous hide, ribbed sides, and double-fingers. The purpose of four tube-like organs that protrude from the back is uncertain.

The species' exterior skeletal surface has both an insect-like exoskeleton and a mammalian endoskeleton. Following Weyland-Yutani scientists' research, their exoskeleton was wrongly termed a "mesoskeleton."

The "mesoskeleton" is a silicon-based shell that provides excellent natural protection for the organism. It shields the organism against a dizzying array of environmental extremes, including interstellar vacuum (at least for short periods). It's extremely resistant to physical harm. It can even block some types of small weapons fire, while armour-piercing ammunition and several types of Yautja weaponry can get through it. It also successfully insulates the organism, shielding it not just from high temperatures but also guaranteeing that no identifiable thermal trace is emitted. The hardness of the creature's mesoskeleton requires it to shed its outer skin periodically as it develops, similar to many insect and reptile species on Earth.

Despite the mesoskeleton's tolerance to temperature variations, quick and dramatic temperature swings can cause it to become brittle and shatter, as proven by "Dragon". Furthermore, while it is resilient to the effects of the creature's own highly corrosive acid blood, it is subject to other types of acid, as found by the crew of the Marion on LV-178.

They have a bipedal shape when standing erect. Depending on their host, Drones have been both plantigrade (walking on the soles of their feet, like a person) and digitigrade (walking on their toes and without contacting the ground with their heels, like a dog or cat). However they prefer a more stooped, quadrupedal position while walking or running.

They have immense strength (capable of smashing through welded steel doors), speed and agility, the ability to adhere to walls, and acidic blood.

Their enormous, cylindrical heads have no apparent eyes. The larger head case might store sensory organs that would be a suitable substitute. For several minutes, "Kane's son" is entranced by a whirling green light.

It might possibly be owing to the creature's resistance to vacuum, which stems from the peculiar structure of the skull, which houses a natural compression chamber and a pseudohypothalmic regulator that keeps the Acidic Blood from freezing.

In addition to savagely sharp fangs, the mouth has an inner jaw that expands with such speed and force that it may pierce tissue and bone.

Drones are slower than runners, but they take more damage. A runner is more likely than a drone to employ its tail assault (which stuns the target).

Small guns can take down a Drone quickly, but the creature has been shown to be exceedingly resistant to environmental threats such as space vacuum.

Some variations on the adult form are:

While on A6 454 in 2214, the synthetic Kiande Amedha, Norbert, observed that the internal organs of adult drones, whether asleep or unconscious, work at a very sluggish rate. This was due to people collecting Royal Jelly all over the planet employing an infrasonic suppression technology. It works similarly to how a beekeeper employs smoke, relaxing the Kiande Amedha to near unconsciousness.

Drones are generally in charge of the Hive's safety, well-being, and building. To that aim, these organisms may secrete a resin-like material that they employ to construct the Hive. A Drone is always in communication with its Queen via numerous means. While this obviously gives a significant advantage in efficiency, a Drone may experience shock following the Matriarch's brutal demise. Drones are sentient creatures with the capacity to employ stealth, analyse a tactical position, and even ambush their prey. The Queen, on the other hand, controls advanced operations.

Hormone Storm is a word used to describe the process by which a Drone transforms into a Queen when the need comes.

Drone: Covenant Drones

These Kiande Amedha variants are formidable predators. Despite having Acidic Blood, they lack the biomechanical characteristics of the other Kiande Amedha. Furthermore, unlike other Kiande Amedha, they reproduce endoparasitically.

Drone: Flying

Years after Ripley's death at Fiorina 161, two Colonial Marine squadrons return to the ruined Hadley's Hope on LV-426 to annihilate the Kiande Amedha presence. Flying Drones, apparently born of winged animals, are one of the Kiande Amedha observed.

Drone: Flying

A variety of LV-223 Kiande Amedha was present on the moon owing to a large number of impregnated hosts as well as the presence of the Chemical A0-3959X.91–15, which began modifying the creatures. Winged drones with the ability to fly were one of the varieties to develop.

Northstar Drone

This strain of Kiande Amedha evolved from non-human hosts, including pigs, dogs, cats, cows, and even chickens.

The strain appears to be the result of a virus as well. Dr. Rand experimented on the Kiande Amedha in Sector C of the Northstar Station.

Dr. Rand has observed that this creature is very predatory at the cellular and molecular levels. To live, this cell assaults and absorbs the cells of anything it comes into contact with. It takes on the form of what it destroys in this way. Dr. Rand believes that the DNA of this creature can digest not only organic but also inorganic materials.

The Kiande Amedha's black cells bit away at red blood cells when placed on a slide with red blood cells. When the Kiande Amedha's cell was placed on a second slide with a solid, metallic molecule, it attacked and absorbed the other molecule, transforming into one steely, armoured creature.

General Smith and Dr. Rand recognized that the Kiande Amedha is entirely predatory genetically, but that by fusing it with human DNA, they may be able to create a stronger, more resilient human. General Smith put it to the test on himself.

Moloch Island Monoclones

The P-4 Labs on Moloch Island Prison's Level 10 were surreptitiously breeding Kiande Amedha, which they referred to as monoclones. Reed and his assistant Mohl are responsible for the upkeep of the Kiande Amedha synthetic womb, which floats in a zero-gravity cradle and is supplied via an umbilicus. The womb's translucent regions form glazed windows. When exposed to light, the womb spasms. Reed is gradually brightening its surroundings in order to reduce birth stress. They may view a false-colored picture of the developing Kiande Amedha within the womb using photoacoustic technology.

The womb has a gestation period of 220 hours (8 days) based on tracking cell sloughage and whether there is any association between this one and earlier copies. To ensure sterility, all monoclones are short-lived. After around 30 days, a suicide gene kicks in.

The Program Director of P-4 Labs examines the viability of chemically and/or genetically changing current Kiande Amedha species in order to generate a more adaptable, controllable, transportable strain.

The scientists built and grew the Monoclones in an artificial "womb" in a lab rather than the typical method of impregnating hosts with Chestbursters. They never try to reproduce on their own, yet the organism residing under the cellblock does start constructing a Hive within a water tank. Perhaps as a result of this manipulation, the Kiande Amedha do not share the Hive mentality of the other Kiande Amedha , and at one point, two of the Kiande Amedha fight to the death on sight.

The altered Kiande Amedha are: Rogue Alien, Chameleon Alien, Brute Alien, Siamese Alien, Mutated Alien, and Newbreed

Cloned Adults / "Auriga Drones"

These Drones were a mutant strain generated from Ripley8 on-board the USM Auriga's Queen. Following Ellen Ripley's death on Fiorina 161 in 2179, Weyland-Yutani gathered her blood samples for use as the starting point for an ambitious effort onboard the USM Auriga in 2137 to clone Ripley and the Queen embryo that was developing inside her at the time of her death. The program appears to have succeeded after years of trial and seven failures, and United Systems Military scientists extracted the Queen embryo.

However, the cloning process had been contaminated, so there was some genetic mix between the Queen (and her future Drones) and Ripley that led to further mutation.

The Auriga Drone has a darker look than the normal Drone, with a unique shimmering green tinge not found on its Acheron cousins. They have a more angular, spindlier, and animalized appearance. Like Lurkers, their dome is more pointed and smooth, resembling a cockroach shell; their chin is more pointed and pulled forward. Their shoulders are more prominent, their ribcages are more prominent, and their necks are considerably fleshier. Their tails contain a flat ridge of spines at the base of the blade that assists in swimming, something they appear to be fairly competent at.

Because Auriga Drones have double-jointed legs, they scurry around on all fours in a digitigrade posture, similar to Runners.

The Auriga Drone seemed to be less than half an inch of mucus, making it sleeker and wetter than other Kiande Amedha who had a glazing coat of slime over areas of their body.

As a byproduct of the cloning process, the Drones have access to Ellen Ripley's memories via their Queen, even if they do not completely comprehend them, just as Ripley8 has access to the Kiande Amedha's "genetic memory." Because of this link, the Drones see Ripley8 as one of their own and, as a result, spare her when they present her to the Queen unscathed..

The Auriga Drones are also more intelligent, probably as a result of Ellen Ripley's memories, demonstrating problem-solving abilities, the capacity to learn quickly, and the ability to build traps to lure and ambush victims.

They also appear to be more self-sufficient, with less reliance on the Queen (possibly due to their human DNA mix).

Newborn

The USM begins the process of re-populating the Kiande Amedha by impregnating the many human hosts given by Frank Elgyn and his mercenary crew. The Auriga Drones finally escaped their confinement, wreaking havoc on board the USM Auriga and causing the spacecraft to autonomously set a course towards Earth. The Queen suffered a significant metamorphosis as a result of the influence of human DNA, and she stopped producing eggs. The Queen gave birth to the Newborn, but it turned on its mother and killed her. With the Hive without a commander and no humans remaining on board the USM Auriga after the Betty escaped, the surviving Auriga Drones planned to hibernate until the situation changed. However, the USM Auriga soon crashed into Earth and detonated, killing all of the surviving Auriga Drones on board.
