The USCSS November, a deep space plasma collecting vessel, drifts toward the comet to collect it. Yet, its navigation systems are dysfunctional. Four surviving crew members on board make their way to the ship's escape pods, which are their only hope of life. However, an adult kiande amedha is loose on the ship. Mari uses a broken motion tracker to help them avoid it. She guides them through the ship's shadowy hallways. Unknown to the others, she was a synthetic sleeper agent, so she tried everything she could to stymie the survivors' advancement.

Sturgis seizes the tracker from Mari, concerned that she is reading it wrong, and takes off after determining a safe route. Mari prevents Alec and his pregnant partner, Hannah, from following. The kiande amedha kills Sturgis shortly after. Ignoring Alec's pleas, Hannah races after the motion sensor, realizing they would most certainly need it to safely exit the ship.

When she reaches Sturgis' corpse, the kiande amedha is gone, and she returns to the group with the tracking device. She hands it back to Mari. Mari reassures Hannah and Alec that Weyland-Yutani was already aware of the November's situation. The company is on their way to rescue them if they can get to the escape pods.

As Alec makes his way across the ship under Mari's command, he realizes that they have been going in loops. The kiande amedha then attacks him, attempting to drag him down a ventilation duct. While it releases Alec and vanishes, part of its acid blood drips on his face, scorching his flesh. Mari and Hannah rush to his rescue, with Hannah attacking the creature with an axe.

The two women assist him to his feet and transport him to the escape pods. They discover only one functioning EEV, limiting the number of people who may escape to two. Alec advises Hannah to leave him behind due to his injuries. Mari is able to override the pod's safety protocols, allowing it to launch with more people aboard. She assists Alec and Hannah in securing their seats.

A containment warning announcement warns Hannah as they prepare to eject. Mari watches with satisfaction from the open hatch as a Facehugger attacks Alec in his seat. The adult kiande amedha arrives behind Mari and impales her on its tail, revealing her to be a synthetic, as Hannah watches in terror. The EEV's hatch closes, sealing a screaming Hannah inside. A second Ovomorph aboard the pod opens and begins disgorging the Facehugger within.

The pod jettisons moments before the November collides with the comet and explodes. The EEV calculates a path to meet up with a Weyland-Yutani probe. It then transmits an automatic signal verifying the presence of alien specimens on board.
