The AKM is a Russian-made 7.62mm assault rifle designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov that does more damage than 5.56mm rifles. Typically, only a barrel, magazine, and sight can be attached.

The AKM is a common variant of the AK-47 rifle that was developed in the 1940s, and the most common variant of the entire AK series of firearms in many countries. The AKM was introduced into the Soviet Army in 1959. In the late 1970's, the AK-47 officially replaced the AKM in Soviet frontline service, but remains in use worldwide.

The AKMS is basically the same as the AKM, though the rear-trunion is altered with a swiveling mechanism to allow for the under-folding stock.

List of 10×24mm Caseless Firearms

The 10×24mm Caseless, designated the M309 in United States Colonial Marine Corps service, is an American-made caseless rifle cartridge notable for being the primary ammunition used by the M41A Pulse Rifle and its variants.

The cartridge consists of a 210 grain (13.6 gram), steel-jacketed and explosive-tipped projectile embedded within a rectangular propellant block of Nitramine 50. Although the propellant mass is small, it is highly efficient, generating muzzle velocities of 840 meters per second. The M309 is optimized for lethality against infantry wearing personal armor, with its factory pre-set impact fuse designed to explode after the round has penetrated armor to inflict maximum damage. Consequently, the round is less effective against unarmored opponents, as it will often over penetrate soft targets without detonating, leaving the victim relatively unscathed and necessitating the use of multiple hits to score a kill.

  • M42A Scope Rifle

The 10×28mm Caseless round, designated the M250 round in United States Colonial Marine Corps service, is an American-made caseless rifle.

The round consists of a 230 grain (14.9 gram) projectile encased in a rectangular block of Nitramine 50 propellant. It offers increased power over the M309 10×24mm Caseless round used by the M41A Pulse Rifle, and also incorporates a selectable fuse setting — a switch on the weapon is used to switch between ammunition fusing modes, and the setting is applied to each round electronically as it is loaded into the chamber. The Super setting is optimized for use against soft targets, detonating on impact, while the Delay setting will allow the round to penetrate armor before exploding within.

When used in Smartguns or sentry guns, 10×28mm Caseless rounds are stored on a roll of continuous plastic non-disintegrating link belt in an ammunition drum, which can be reloaded in the field.

The 10×28mm cartridge can also be used in the M42A Scope Rifle without the need for modification, although it offers inferior range and accuracy when compared to the rifle's bespoke match-standard ammunition types.

Like the M240 Incinerator Unit, the Flame Thrower used by the crew off the Nostromo in June 2122 fired pressurized, ultra-thickened napthal ignited by the Flame Thrower's nozzle burner at an effective range of 30 meters. The Flame Thrower had maximum burst of 20 seconds. The weapon was 88 centimeters long and weighed 2.7 kilograms, the same length and weight as the M240 with a full reservoir. "Rigging" (assembling or setting up) 3 or 4 Flame Throwers apparently took about 20 minutes.

After Brett was killed by the fully grown Drone, the crew went searching for the creature. Dallas concluded the creature was using the ship's ventilation ducts to move around and proposed a plan to flush it into the main airlock, at which point it could be jettisoned into space. Ash suggested that, since it worked on animals, fire might work to force the Drone to retreat. Dallas ordered Parker to "rig three or four" Flame Throwers, who told him it would take "about twenty minutes". Once the Flame Throwers were ready, Dallas went into the ducts armed with one, firing the Flame Thrower occasionally, but was eventually caught by the Drone, dropping his Flame Thrower. Parker later retrieved his Flame Thrower and placed it down on the mess hall table, before picking it back up and carrying it and then leaving the rest of the crew to refuel it.

After Ash was discovered to be a synthetic by the crew, Parker used his Flame Thrower to incinerate his remains. Parker then took the Flame Thrower with him when he and Lambert went to sufficient coolant for the life support systems of the Narcissus, which the rest of the crew planned to flee the Nostromo with. Ripley stayed behind with another Flame Thrower. The Drone eventually encountered Lambert and Parker tried to fire his Flame Thrower at the Drone, but refrained from doing so for fear of catching Lambert in the crossfire. He instead dropped his Flame Thrower and grabbed a hook, attempting to charge the creature, but was quickly overpowered. The Drone then killed Parker, before killing Lambert as well.

The only survivor, Ripley fled to the Narcissus, carrying a Flame Thrower and Jonesy in his cat box. Before reaching the Narcissus, Ripley dropped the Flame Thrower, leaving it to be destroyed along with the rest of the Flame Throwers on board the Nostromo when the ship's self destruct system detonated.

Ripley: Okay, what about temperature? What happens if we change it?

Ash: Let's try it. I mean most animals retreat from fire, yes?

Dallas: Fire, yeah. Parker, can you rig three or four incinerator units?"

Parker: Give me about twenty minutes, I'll do it. Alien. 20th Century Fox, 1979. Movie.

The M240 is 88cm long and weighs 2.7 kg fully-loaded. The fuel consists of pressurized and ultra-thickened napthal that can be fired over a range of 30 meters, or 50 meters with a high-angle shot. The fuel cell can be refilled directly or replaced entirely with a new one.

The nozzle burner and the firing trigger are operated separately, which allows for a “wetshot” option, where the fuel is sprayed onto a target without using the nozzle burner, to be ignited afterward with another shot.

The M210 Flamethrower was the arm-mounted version of the M240.

Offering fire control superior to that of its predecessor, the Flamethrower Marine’s next-generation flamethrower, the M240B, excelled at simultaneously searing multiple enemies in its fiery blast cone. The weapon performed better against closer targets, as its flame was more concentrated at the launch nozzle. The weapon’s fuel was somewhat adhesive and therefore continued to heat even non-flammable targets after the Flamethrower itself had ceased firing.

This is a good weapon against even tough enemies. The M4A4 Pistol features both antipersonnel and antiarmor ammo. It lacks the range of bigger weapons, but in a pinch, it does fine.

These are like the Machine Guns carried by USCM, except they are automated. The M30 Auto Cannon is mounted to a tripod, which includes a Motion Detection Sensor and servos for aiming and firing the weapon. A separate Control Module weighing 1.5 pounds is used to program, activate, and deactivate the weapon, and can be used from up to a quarter of a mile away.

The weapon is programmed to cover a given area, ranging from a 30 degree cone to all-around fire and out to 180 feet. Once activated, it automatically tracks and fires at any target which enters this area. The weapon has a Capacity of 60 bursts, and is primarily used to secure perimeters against non-intelligent lifeforms.

Sentry Guns are not employed in civilized areas, due to the danger to non-combatants, and it is illegal to use them against pyode amedha (human) opponents.

After encountering the Yautja, Sentry Guns were equipped with an active sensor system capable of defeating Yautja cloaking. The information collected by this sensor is automatically relayed to the visual support sustems of nearby soldiers, enabling them to see cloaked Yautja as if they were uncloaked. Clever commanders often lure these enemies into attacking a target within range of a Huntbuster, in order to reveal them for counterattack by snipers and the AURORA.

With a weight of less than 20 kilograms, the UA 571 can be carried by personnel without assistance and requires less than 150 seconds to mount. The system consists of the gun itself, a tripod mount and a remote console. A radius of a full 360 degrees is possible, although it is recommended to install several sentries with smaller surveillance arcs. The sensor array of the gun is situated at the front of the gun and covers a cone of 60 degrees. Tracking and detection methods include infrared sensors, ambient light optics, a motion tracker and a lidar and support individual profiles to identify targets with known emission characteristics. The data is fed to a laptop-sized remote console, where the operator can survey various data like ammunition counts and set the sentry gun to one of three operation settings: “Auto-remote” sets the gun to identify targets using an IFF signal and fire automatically. “Semi-auto” and “manual override” relays the data to the operator who then decides whether to fire the sentry or not. Several variants of UA 571 with different weapon types exist, the most common being the UA 571-C.

A Hunterbuster Sentry Gun has a built-in counterballistics system that calculates the source of incoming fire and uses a tightbeam cloak-defeating scanner to "light it up". The Huntbuster maintains a lock on an enemy once revealed, enabling its rapid-fire sniper rifle to dissuade it from continuing to attack.

This weapon lays down a rapid-fire blanket of caseless rounds. With 150 rounds per clip, you can put a lot of flying metal in the air without frequent reloads. It has excellent range too. That, combined with its motion-tracking function, lets you destroy multiple targets at a distance, quickly and accurately.

The Smartgun has some limitations. Its weight forces you to a walking speed, reducing the effectiveness of your backpedaling technique. When kiande amedha manage to penetrate your fire, they often get in a few slashes before you take them out. Second, Smartgun shells don’t pierce armor well, so the gun loses effectiveness against durable enemies.

The Smartgun also automatically switches to direct fire mode (no tracking) when you activate your Image Intensifier, but this isn’t much of a liability. Direct fire mode is just as withering as tracking fire—you just must aim better!

The primary machine gun used by squads of the USCM by the time of the year 2179. Was used by the Marines on their mission to Hadley's Hope in the same year.

Capable of firing its 10mm ammunition with a rate of 1700rpm over a range of 1500 meters. The gun itself is mounted on an articulation arm that is in turn connected to a harness worn by the operator. An infrared tracking system automatically directs the weapon over the arm to steer it to its target, while firing commences manually. However, the operator can choose to direct the M56 him- or herself at any time. The M56 is 122cm long and weighs almost 18kg when fully-loaded, harness included.

The harness has a protected breastplate, under which a PRC 489/4 communications receiver/transmitter system and the tracking and targeting processor are stored. Connected to these systems is the Head Mounted Sight (short HMS) which relays its data over the systems and the articulation arm to the gun. A DV-9 Lithium battery powers the system for the duration of 50.000 fired rounds when fully charged. The gun is fired either by pulling the rear handling grip upwards or using the firing trigger. Firing options include Safe, Burst and Autofire settings, while the ammunition can be switched to either detonate on impact or with a delay, after penetrating the target's armor.

The IMI Desert Eagle is a semi-automatic handgun notable for chambering the largest centerfire cartridge of any magazine fed, self-loading pistol. It has a unique design with a triangular barrel and large muzzle.

The Mark I, which is no longer produced, is the earliest variation of the Desert Eagle put into production. The Mark I was offered with a steel, stainless steel or aluminum alloy frame and differs primarily in the size and shape of the safety levers and slide catch. The Mark I is available in .357 Magnum and .44 Magnum. The barrels had a ?3/8" dovetail, to which an accessory mount could be attached.

The Mark I is distinguishable from later Desert Eagle models by the "teardrop" shape of its safety button. The Mark I's slide release also has only a single step, while the release on the Mark VII and Mark XIX has several steps.

In 1987, Billy, "Dutch" Schaefer, Mac, Poncho and Hawkins have IMI Desert Eagle handguns holstered as their sidearms. "Dutch" and Poncho keeps theirs in a hip holster while Billy, Mac and Hawkins use shoulder holsters. Billy sleeps with his Desert Eagle in-hand, while later, "Dutch" reaches for his after crawling out of the river and through the wet mud, only to find that he lost the weapon when going over the waterfall.

The M1911 is a single-action, semi-automatic, magazine-fed, recoil-operated pistol chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. It served as the standard-issue sidearm for the United States Armed Forces from 1911 to 1986. It was first used in later stages of the Philippine–American War, and was widely used in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. The pistol's formal designation as of 1940 was Automatic Pistol, Caliber .45, M1911 for the original model of 1911 or Automatic Pistol, Caliber .45, M1911A1 for the M1911A1, adopted in 1924. The designation changed to Pistol, Caliber .45, Automatic, M1911A1 in the Vietnam War era.

The U.S. procured around 2.7 million M1911 and M1911A1 pistols in military contracts during its service life. The M1911 was replaced by the 9mm Beretta M9 pistol as the standard U.S. sidearm in October 1986, but due to its popularity among users, it has not been completely phased out. Modernized derivative variants of the M1911 are still in use by some units of the U.S. Army Special Forces, the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps.

The Walther PP (Polizeipistole, or police pistol) series pistols are blowback-operated semi-automatic pistols, developed by the German arms manufacturer Walther. It features an exposed hammer, a traditional double-action trigger mechanism, a single-column magazine, and a fixed barrel that also acts as the guide rod for the recoil spring. The series includes the Walther PP, PPK, PPK/S, and PPK/E.

The PP and the PPK were among the world's first successful double action semi-automatic pistols and were widely copied, but are still made by Walther. The design inspired other pistols, among them the Soviet Makarov, the Hungarian FEG PA-63, the American Accu-Tek AT-380 II, and the Argentinian Bersa Thunder 380. The PP and PPK were both popular with European police and civilians, for being reliable and concealable. During World War II, they were issued to the German military, including the Luftwaffe, as well as the police.

The Heckler & Koch MP5 is a 9mm submachine gun of German design, developed in the 1960s by a team of engineers from the German small arms manufacturer Heckler & Koch GmbH (H&K) of Oberndorf am Neckar. There are over 100 variants of the MP5, including a semi-automatic version. The MP5 is one of the most widely used submachine guns in the world, having been adopted by 40 nations and numerous military, law enforcement, intelligence, and security organizations. It is widely used by SWAT teams in North America.

The H&K HK94 was the civilian semiautomatic version of the famous MP5 Submachine gun with an exposed 16.54-inch [420mm] barrel and special SF (safe/semi-automatic) trigger group, designed for civilian use. A barrel-mounted vertical foregrip and a ventilated barrel shroud were available for the stock HK94. The HK94 was made from 1983 to 1989, in different configurations. The HK94A3 had a retractable stock, an overall length of 27.58 inches [700 mm] collapsed and 34.05 inches [865 mm] extended and weighed 7.18 lbs. [3.26 kg].

In the early 1980s, it was cheaper to convert the plentiful and less expensive semiauto gun and register it as a Title II weapon. A large portion of the full auto MP5s coming into the country were slated for Law Enforcement and Military sales. Its importation was banned in May 1989 by the ATF re-interpretation of the "Sporting Clause" of GCA-68, determining that the imported 'assault weapons' were not suitable for sporting purposes as put forth by the older GCA 68.

In 1987, the HK94A3s are the mainstay weapons of many members of "Dutch" Schaefer's squad. SGT Blain Cooper, Jorge "Poncho" Ramirez, Rick Hawkins and Al Dillon all carry them. SGT Mac Eliot can be seen one time with Blain's HK94.

The Lacrima 99 Shockrifle, often known as the "Burner," is a descendant of the Pulse Rifle. Although a slightly different weapon and not developed by Armat, it is still nicknamed the "Pulse Rifle" by the soldiers using it.

The Lacrima fires solid slugs from a magazine inserted into the pistol grip using an electronic pulse action similar to the M41A Pulse Rifle. It is particularly well-suited to combat at longer ranges than standard rifles. As a result, USM Scouts and Snipers favour the weapon, as they are well-trained in its use and exceedingly proficient with it..

It can also be equipped with a taser-like under-barrel shock device that incapacitates without causing physical harm. Ripley8 used that setting on Dr. Wren when she strangled him. The weapon does not work underwater, although it is known to work when wet. It comes with an attachment lamp underneath.

It is the basic assault rifle weapon deployed onboard the Auriga by United Systems Military, although it is also popular by mercenaries.

The standard Pulse Rifle has a Grenade Launcher mounted under its barrel. This fires a small projectile with the same explosive power as a standard Hand Grenade.

This powerful weapon launches four types of munitions. It is ideal for creating defensive perimeters. Proximity grenades and smart mines can be particularly deadly defensive traps when set properly. Spray some down passages where attackers are likely to come. The proximity grenades stick to surfaces and detonate when they detect motion. Even more fun, on detecting a target, smart mines actually “walk” toward it on tiny robotic legs.

Timed grenades are more useful for offensive purposes, but only in certain circumstances. Because they bounce off surfaces (unless they hit a target) while their timers beep toward detonation, you can launch timed grenades down suspicious-looking shafts and vents, around corners, or into dark rooms and tunnels—anywhere you suspect enemies lurk.

Two warnings: First, all grenades have a large blast radius, so don’t use them near yourself. Second, the launch delivery is slow. Fast-moving foes will make hash of you if you try to use a Grenade Launcher in a typical fight.

A rare weapon system, designed to destroy vehicles and fortifications. It is extremely powerful. With a blast radius big enough to eliminate an entire platoon of bunched enemies, the M-6B Rocket Launcher is the most powerful single-shot weapon in your arsenal. It’s a specialized long-range weapon, not one to use in tight places. This is probably your most effective anti-Yautja weapon. Use it against larger kiande amedha too — the Predalien and Praetorian.

Like the Smartgun and Minigun, the Rocket Launcher restricts your movement to walking. Avoid lugging it around unless the immediate area is clear, then wield it when you’re ready to fire at a suitably distant target. At middle range, use direct-fire rockets. At long range, switch to tracking rockets. (The more time self-propelled rockets have to home in on their target, the more accurate.)

The M203 grenade launcher with a 39mm bore diameter (standard is 40mm) is single-shot grenade launcher designed to attach to a rifle (often mounted on a variant of the M16 rifle). It uses the same type of rounds as the older stand-alone M79 break-action grenade launcher, which utilizes the High-Low Propulsion System to keep recoil forces low. Quite versatile, and compatible with many rifle models, the M203 was originally designed for the U.S. M16 and its variant, the M4 Carbine. The launcher can also be mounted onto a C7, a Canadian version of the M16 rifle, however, this requires the prior removal of the bottom handguard.

Stand-alone variants of the M203 exist, as do versions designed specifically for many other rifles. The device attaches under the barrel, the launcher trigger being in the rear of the launcher, just forward of the rifle magazine. The rifle magazine functions as a hand grip when firing the M203. A separate sighting system is added to rifles fitted with the M203, as the rifle's standard sights are not matched to the launcher. The version fitted to the Canadian C7 has a sight attached to the side of the launcher, either on the left or right depending on the user's needs.

It was popular at the time before the Cobray 37mm Launcher was produced. The grenades are capable of being used at very close range; M203 rounds have a safety device in which they must spin for a certain amount of time before arming, giving them a minimum range.

The M72 LAW (Light Anti-Tank Weapon, also referred to as the Light Anti-Armor Weapon or LAW as well as LAWS Light Anti-Armor Weapons System) is a portable one-shot 66-mm unguided anti-tank weapon developed for individual use and first deployed during the Vietnam War. A spent tube is relatively easy to get hold of since in many jurisdictions it is treated in the same way as an expended bullet casing. It would be incredibly unlikely to see a live LAW in a live-action medium outside of stock footage, due to the risk to actors. It can be assumed any LAW in a live-action movie is a spent tube, typically rigged with some sort of pyrotechnic device to simulate firing.

The solid rocket propulsion unit was developed in the newly formed Rohm and Haas research laboratory at Redstone Arsenal in 1959, then the full system was designed by Paul V. Choate, Charles B. Weeks, Frank A. Spinale, et al. at the Hesse-Eastern Division of Norris Thermadore. American production of the weapon began by Hesse-Eastern in 1963, and was terminated by 1983; currently it is produced by Nammo Raufoss AS in Norway and their subsidiary Nammo Talley, Inc. in Arizona.

In early 1963, the M72 LAW was adopted by the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps as their primary individual infantry anti-tank weapon, replacing the M31 HEAT rifle grenade and the M20A1 "Super Bazooka" in the U.S. Army. It was subsequently adopted by the U.S. Air Force to serve in an anti-emplacement/anti-armor role in Air Base Defense duties.

Similar in use to the M41A Pulse Rifle, the M41-E Carbine is a fully automatic, electronic blowback-operated weapon used by the USCM in the 2190s.

Weighs 4.8 kilograms and sports an effective range of 500 meters.

Firing caseless 10mm bullets, the M41-E can be loaded with a 100-round antipersonnel magazine, a 100-round armor-piercing magazine or a 75-round rainbow tracer magazine. The firing rate was 700 rounds per minute (11 rounds per second).

Also features a 30mm, pump-action grenade launcher mounted under the barrel.

The M41-E was a versatile and formidable weapon, able to punch through anything less than a Class-VII Spidersilk Armor.

Field use revealed some weaknesses: The effective reach was reduced by subpar sights, and the range of the grenade launcher was limited to 50 meters.

The M41-E carbine was notable for being used during the training of Squad 1, Fox Platoon, Company Able, 1st Extee Division, Second USCM, which was a group of combat androids created as part of a military project to create synthetics indistinguishable from pyode amedha (humans) in order to facilitate interaction with regular soldiers. Designed to punch holes in armored vehicles, it can kill absolutely anything— Yautja, Praetorian, Predalien—with one short burst. But several drawbacks make it useful only for the toughest confrontations.

First, it’s heavy, so maneuvering at anything faster than a walk is impossible. You may obliterate everything in front of you, but nimble kiande amedha don’t usually camp in your gun sight very long. Second, although its ammo belt holds 900 rounds, it expends them quickly. (You run dry in about 20 seconds.) Learn to fire in short bursts to conserve ammunition. Again, save the Minigun for your biggest, baddest enemies. It’s the best way to eliminate the imposing kiande amedha Empress.

The M134 Minigun is a six-barreled, electrically-driven rotary gun. Originally designed by General Electric, it is a miniaturized version of the 20mm M61 Vulcan chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO. It was originally designed during the Vietnam War to provide a high-volume-of-fire weapon suitable for mounting on helicopters. It had a fire rate of up to 6,000 rounds per minute. The recoil of so many rounds would actually move a human back at least 5 feet for a burst at even 3500 Rounds per minute.

The hand-held version had an M60 handguard assembly installed beneath the barrels and a rear pistol grip which is taken from normal Minigun spade grips. The grips are attached to the weapon by a custom Y-frame with an M16-style carry handle that mounts to the weapon's recoil absorbers. The ammo pack for the weapon uses an M23 armament system ammo box and cover assembly attached to an ALICE pack frame. These ammunition canisters hold approximately 550 rounds when filled; at the confirmed rate of fire (1,250 RPM), the minigun had a maximum of 25 seconds of ammo.

The United States Machine Gun, Caliber 7.62 mm, M60, is a family of American general-purpose machine. The M60E3 is the lightweight version developed in the mid-eighties for the US Marine Corps and adopted in 1986 to replace their stocks of original production M60s to remedy problems with earlier versions of the M60 for infantry use. It used a bipod mounted to the handguard rather than the barrel and fitted with a front pistol grip. It fires 7.62×51mm NATO cartridges from a disintegrating belt of M13 links. There are several types of ammunition approved for use in the M60, including ball, tracer, and armor-piercing rounds.

Introduced in 1957, it has served with every branch of the U.S. military and still serves with other armed forces. However, the decreased weight led to decreased reliability and heating problems, and the E3 was largely replaced in service by the M240 in 1990 as their general-purpose machine gun. The M60E3 did remain in the Air Force as an emergency issue weapon only.

The 50 Watt Plasma Rifle is an advanced weapon with a short barrel for easy manuevering and three charged cells for ammo. It had selective firing, so the users could use automatic as well as single fire. According to Adams, it is uncommon for anyone to reach the third cell as the destructive power of the rifle means most enemies are dead before the user can run out. The weapon itself is dangerous to the user as it can overload if a user goes "full auto" too much as it will burn through the cells and cause an overload.

Due to extreme heat, the barrel itself was made from Trimonite.

This is the definitive weapon of the USCM and most other military forces, but was also used by corporate strike forces and mercenaries.

The M-41A Pulse Rifle combines good range and power with rapid-fire capability perfect for melees. It uses electronic pulse action to fire 10mm Light Armor Piercing rounds with an explosive tip, and also includes a PN 30mm Grenade Launcher, which is slung under the barrel. The automatic-fire function spits out 99 rounds per clip.

The weapon has two firing modes, a four-round burst mode and a full automatic mode, in which the rifle can fire with a rate of 900 rounds per minute at a velocity of 840 meters per second. The rifle's battery can fire 10,000 rounds on a single charge.

The grenade launcher is able to load a variety of different grenade ammunition types, the most commonly used being the M40 High Explosive fragmentation round. The M41A fires grenades with a velocity of 78 meters per second, at an effective range of 180 meters and a maximum range of 400 meters.

Additional features include an LED ammo display, a retractable stock and an option to mount a scope.

The Pulse Rifle is used in military environments only, and is usually replaced by the Submachine Gun when USCM and other forces are performing police work and other duties which bring them in contact with civilians. As mentioned above, the Submachine Gun does not have a great deal of penetrating power; the Pulse Rifle will penetrate personal armor, as well as normal building walls and other city obstacles

Part of the M41 series of Pulse Rifles, the M41A/2 Pulse Rifle (aka M41A Mk2) was designed as a replacement for the M41A Pulse Rifle, incorporating several improvements over the earlier designs. The handle is lower than the other variants, the weapon is considerably darker and there is a small Colonial Marines logo on the handle.

It is used by both USCM marines and Weyland-Yutani PMCs as a primary weapon at the Origin facility shortly after the destruction of Hadley's Hope in 2179.

Retaining its use of 10mm ammo, the Mk2 was a mid-range pulse rifle like its predecessor, but more powerful. The increase in damage was countered by a smaller clip size, reducing the number of rounds per magazine to 40, although it could be increased to 60 by an M5 Extended Magazine at no additional weight. The weapon also lacked the burst mode of the normal M41A Pulse Rifle. Additionally, the Mk2 was designed to be compatible with a wide range of upgrades and attachments.

It uses a trigger-controlled electronic pulse action to fire. On the left-hand side of the receiver is a manual cocking handle, allowing to check for remaining rounds in the chamber, or clear the breech. Standard M41A/2 ammunition magazines store 99 rounds in a 'U' bend conveyor, fed mechanically into the rotating breech. It capable of emptying its entire magazine in a matter of seconds.

The M41A/2's grenades have a "shockwave" effect, stunning nearby targets.

The M41A/2's 10×24mm Caseless ammunition can penetrate the armor of a Praetorian.

The M41A/2 notably saw widespread use during the Freya's Prospect kiande amedha infestation on BG-386. However, when firing, the barrel heated up and began to glow red during sustained fire.

shotgun shotgun

This simple weapon has not become obsolete due to advancements in technology. The design has evolved substantially since the 19th century, but the essentials remain the same: when the trigger is pulled, a barrage of small metal shots is discharged, putting anybody in their path in grave peril. The Shotgun, on the other hand, can not penetrate armour well and is confined to a short range.

It has a powerful punch that rips a standard kiande amedha in half, and it's great in confined spaces where kiande amedha like to hide. The punch, however, has one flaw: it tends to spill toxic kiande amedha blood.

Another feature of the Shotgun is that its primary ammunition, shells, does not penetrate armour well. Slugs are ideal for taking down armoured targets and are used against fellow Marines and Praetorians (whose hardened shells give a form of armoured protection).

Hicks uses the "Stakeout" version with shortened barrel and pistol grip with a blued finish. He notably used it to kill a kiande amedha Warrior that attempted to board the APC by holding the door's open which Hicks says to "Eat this!" when he sticks the barrel of the gun into the Warrior's mouth at point blank and fires. However this in turn causes the splashback to hit Hudson's arm.

The Stun Baton is an electroshock incapacitating weapon. It delivers an electric shock aimed at temporarily disrupting muscle functions and/or inflicting pain without causing significant injury. Many types of these devices exist. Stun guns, batons (or prods), and belts administer an electric shock by direct contact, whereas Tasers (conducted electrical weapons) fire projectiles that administer the shock through thin flexible wires. Long-range electroshock projectiles, which can be fired from ordinary shotguns and do not need the wires, have also been developed.

The larger baton-style prods are similar in basic design to an electric cattle prod. It has a metal end split into two parts electrically insulated from each other, or two thin projecting metal electrodes about 2.5 centimetres (1 in) apart, at an end of a shaft containing the batteries and mechanism. At the other end of the shaft are a handle and a switch. Both electrodes must touch the subject. In some types the sides of the baton can be electrified to stop the subject from grasping the baton above the electrodes.

In the early 1980s, Valmet released a version of the M78 with a black Synthetic Thumbhole stock and black Synthetic Foregrip, called the M78/83.

There are eight types of M76, four of which use 7.62×39mm M43 ammunition (.308 Winchester), while the other four use 5.56×45mm NATO rounds (.223 Remington). They use 15-, 20-, or 30-round magazines. Finland used the 7.62 mm version, while Qatar and Indonesia use the 5.56 mm version.

It has the standard clubfoot RPK-style buttstock and either a wooden or black Synthetic forearm. It has been chambered in 5.56x45mm (.223 Remington), 7.62x39mm, and 7.62x51mm (.308 Winchester).
